Day after Draft
{Devin's POV}
I barely got any sleep and my family and I are on a plane to my new home Pheonix. D'Angelo and some friends and I all went out to this club after the draft. I'm tired Kay is tired and we all are excited for this change.
Phoenix Arizona
I soon as I got off the plane the camera crew was there also my agent Myers
"Ok Devin welcome to Phoenix, you have 4 hours to sleep freshen up then it's Live interview time." he rambled on running along side of me
"Ok well I just want to get my family settled first" I reassured him getting in the black Tahoe that was waiting on me.
"Will do son we have you a Condo set down from the arena, 4 rooms one for your mother and sister to share and the one for your brother also your father the of course you and Kallie" he said annoying me
"It's Kaylnn and thank you a lot" I said closing the door as we pulled off
"Hey bro does this mean I get those 1D tickets now" Maya said rubbing my shoulder.
"Sit back we'll see" I reassured the pulled Kaylnn's sleeping body closer to me.
How is this all going to play out, I can't mess this up over a dream.
"Ok Mom you have a room with Maya, do whatever but I'm taking a 45 min nap DONT disturb me for anything or anybody unless it's Tinashe" I said cautiously looking over my shoulder for that last part.
"Hahaha very funny" Kay said heading for our room
"I was just playing bae" I said following her
"Oh ok" she replied blunt as hell
"Will you wake me in 45" I asked taking off my shoes
"Ask Tinashe" she mumbled getting ready for her shower.
"Man chill I was joking, now can you please wake me up" I asked laying down
"Fine" she said going in the bathroom
"Devin how does it feel to know that this is now the real thing" a reporter asked from my left
"It's always been real to me, but being a professional basketball player is unexplainable. I just hope to make the best out of being here, and watching my dreams come to life" I replied
"What are things you're going to miss about Kentucky" one questioned
"Man my brothers, Tyler especially we've stuck together for everything and us now being separated is going to be dufficult. That and my Big Blue Nation the best fans on the face of this earth." I answered holding back tears.
"What are you going to do to prepare yourself for Summer League in a few weeks." someone blurted out
"Ummm just work really hard, that's almost like real games so I'm going to treat it like one and gradually build myself up to that point" I answered
The rest of the interview, I wasn't fully there man all I was thinking about was Tyler, yeah I have D'Angelo but it's not the same. any life is about to change for ever.
{D'Angelo POV}
I'm still in N.Y. with my family and friends. Last night was crazy after we left the draft we went to some club and every thing we had was free. We left there early cause once they announced we were in there and new NBA players, girls flocked us, flashing their boobs and rubbing all up on us. Tonio and my friend enjoyed it but Kiya wasn't having it. Once we got back to our room just know 50 shades of grey had nothing on us lol
"Ayye y'all ready" my friend Craig asked
"Yeah let's bounce" My best friend Lane said
"Man it's our last day in New York ma and you not coming" I heard my brother Lashawn saying into the phone.
"Wait why isn't she coming" I asked looking up from my phone
"Claim she isn't hungry and needs sleep before her flight" He replied pulling the phone away from his face.
"Ight cool well it's just us 5" Tonio said tying his Jordan's
"Wait Kiya not coming" Craig asked cleaning his glasses
"Lmao nah still sleep" I replied with a sly grin leaving them with puzzled looks.
"Ohhhh I get it ...... you Nasty" Lane said
"Yeah I know, but the car is out front let's go" I said walking out the door
(Airport 2 hours later )
"I just have to say Thank you all for supporting a young boy. I love y'all for real man. Aye ...Ma baby we made it. Thank y'all for real. I'll see y'all in a week or two." I said to my family holding Chloe and hugging my mothers side. Right now Tonio and I are crying like some big as babies. Both tears of joy and sadness. My dad teary eyes shows that he's proud of me.
I hug everyone and watch them board the plane, Then Kiya and I head back to our room.
"We leave for L.A. tomorrow morning, by 9 a.m. we should already be done with security and bag check." Kiya said checking her phone #2
"Ight but for now I just want to chill in peace" I said throwing my hat on the table and rubbing my hand down my face in frustration.
"Oookay well I let you be" she said walking out of the room to the little kitchen area
"NO come lay with me" I yelled out to her
"Nope cause you seem grouchy and I don't want to deal with that" she yelled back.
She was right I'm not used to the start of this life and she's picking it up like it's kindergarten math. Let me take this nap.
