"Honey, wake up." My mothers familiar voice pierces my sleep. "We need to leave soon, hurry." She calls again. I sigh and groan to myself and lift myself off my pillow. I grab I my phone off my bed side table to check the time; 6:31AM.I place my phone back and focus my eyes on my suitcase by my bedroom door, thinking of the day to follow, and I really wasn't looking forward to it since my mother is basically forcing me into this.
It's the first week of summer vacation and she only went and spurn up last week that me and my nine year old bother, Jason, are going down to London to spend it with my dad, which I'm not all too thrilled about.
My mum and dad separated and divorced six years ago, I was only thirteen but I had a great understanding of the matter and I knew what happened, unlike Jason, who was only three when it all blew up. So unlike me he is really excited about visiting my dad over the summer.
As for my dad, he moved down to London two years ago to peruse his career in music and apparently he has landed himself a really good job producing music for big named artists; well so my mum keeps trying to tell me about, but I try to avoid any talk about my dad, our relationship hasn't been the strongest since him and my mum split.
I was torn again from my thoughts when my mum calls for me again. "Olivia, I don't here you getting up." She yells. "Come on!" I sigh once again and I finally get up and get ready.

"Are we there yet?" Jason moans from the back seat.
"Does it look like it?" I snap. The answer was obvious, we we're still on the motorway.
"Liv! Enough." My mum reaches over to me at the passenger side and taps my knee. "We'll be there soon, Jason." She added.
I took a quick glance over at my mum, her crystal blue eyes focused on the road a head. She looked so calm, and peaceful but that didn't stop me from rolling my eyes at her.
We were only about and hour away from my dad's but we had already been in the car for over four hours, so the journey wasn't pleasant. But I just put in my earphones, turned my music up on my phone, looked out the window and started dreading the next few weeks.

Just over an hour later we pull out side my dad's house, I would be lying if I said it wasn't beautiful. It was a new build, a massive sandstone brick house. I have never seen a house with so many windows, I wonder what rooms lay behind them. There was a gorgeous ache way, and patio leading up to the front door. It was stunning.
I got out the car, closing the door behind me. Seconds after my mum and Jason followed. I got my bags out the back of the car and I slowly headed up the stone pathway leading up the the stairs to the door. Jason ran straight a head just as my dad emerged from the front door, and that's when I brought myself to a halt.
My dad really hasn't changed much since I last seen him, which was before he moved. His hair has gotten more grey but that's all the change I noticed. It really looked like life down here does him well.
I felt a slight nudge from behind, which brings me back from my thoughts, I look to my left and my mum is by my side, encouraging me to go. I take a deep breath and continue to walk up the path.
"Dad!" Jason shouts before launching himself into my dad's arms. "I'm so glad to see you."
I could tell how happy my dad way to see Jason, his face said it all.
"Hey buddy." His grip on, Jason gets tighter. "I missed you, I'm so glad you're here." He smiles, placing Jason down but keeps his arm round his shoulder.
