I call mom and tell her to meet me somewhere so I can tell her. Later on that day, Brent and I went to McDonald's to wait on mom to come. We saw her pull up. I was then struggling to find words.
"Mom, I need to talk to you."-me
"What is wrong.?"-mom
"So, the other day I woke up throwing up. It got worse, Brent took me to the hospital. I ha tests and cat scans done. We was at the hospital for 3 hours and the results came back."-me
"Oh my. I feel this is bad."-mom
"They came back positive. I have c...can....cancer."-me
I started crying and when Brent saw me crying he started crying.
Mom say there. I can tell she was trying not to cry.
"You can cry mom."-me
"I know."-mom
We order food and try to ignore the fact of cancer. We talked about different things. Mom asked how dad was doing. I told her the same he was. And I told her that I haven't talked to him for a week. She asked why.
"Every time I go to talk to him, he says he don't care. Or he has a girl over and doesn't pay attention to me."-me
"Wow. Have you told him about you yet."-mom
"Nope. Brent's mom and dad was the first to know. And I called you. Later,today I'll call him an tell him."-me
"Oh well. I have to go. I love you. When is your first chemo appointment.?"-mom
"Some time next week."-me
"Oh well let me now when for sure date is."-mom
"Okay."-me
She got up and left.
"Why does she do that."-Brent
"She don't care and never has. Her and my dad are like that."-me
"Well, you know I love you to death and I would do anything in the world to make you better"-Brent
"Aww, and you know I love you to death. And I would do the same for you,honey."-me
