Legion Hearing Hall

It was well on in the day, and the Lords of the Legion were hearing the various wrong doings of the supernatural world, over which the Legion ruled. The woman on the floor was not important, but the man behind her was. When the woman was dismissed the man stepped forward, once the people gathered recognised him there was a moment of confusion, then fear.
This man was the Legionnaire, the master of the Legions military, as well as the most powerful supernatural in existence. The Legionnaire did not seem to notice any of this as he stepped towards the speakers box, indeed he did not seem to notice much of anything aside from where he was to stand.
The Lords wore their surprise openly on their faces. Never had the Legionnaire deigned to appear during these sessions. Marcurio, the most well spoken, gathered his wits first.
"My Lord Legionnaire, I don't believe I have ever had the pleasure of speaking to you in such a public place. whatever could be on your mind?" he smiled, an oily smile the privileged develop when they realise they can get whatever they want.
The Legionnaire looked up at the Lords, eyeing each in their turn, first Marcurio, then NeBow, and finally Meridius, before finally answering the question. "Lords I am here, in this manner, to ask about the stories I have heard of the corruption among the Legion. I have witnessed it first hand today, and so you have my resignation." This declaration was met by gasps at first then people started to edge their way out of the hall.
The lords were speechless, at first. After a moment, Nebow spoke.
"You can not resign Legionnaire. We wont stand for it. Working for the Legion is a life long commitment."
Legionnaire looked up, scathingly, " I have served this Legion for over twenty thousand years. I helped to begin it when you, Nebow, were still swaddled by your mother. I think I have the right to resign if and when I so choose. I also would be curious to see you stop me. Now if that is all, I will take my leave of you all."
The legionnaire turned and started to walk out of the hall, but Meridius was faster. "Guards, detain him."
The guards wavered for a moment, unsure of what to do, this was their commanding officer after all, before they moved forward, releasing their weapons from sheathes, scabbard, and rings.
They never even saw legionnaire coming. Before they had time to react, most of them were either unconcious or at least unarmed, and Legionnaire stood among them. A sword in one hand and a hand hammer in the other.
"Stand down, I have no wish to harm you." The remaining 4 guards did as they were bid. Then he turned his attention to the Lords, " You are cowards, who refuse to do your own work. If you feel so strongly about this then I challenge you to fight me. A duel, reminiscent of the ancient era from which I come."
Silence descends upon the hall as everyone waits for a response. None is given, the three lords shift uncomfortably, then shake their heads.
" Proof then, that you are the cowards I have accused you of being. Do not send people after me again. I will not show the same mercy to them."
The Legionnaire turns, drops his captured weapons, and walks stiffly from the room, his shoulder cape flowing behind him.
