WARNING:Animal deaths

It had already been quite the surprise that there was a mew no one knew about. Not that it really interested him as much as Ichigo did... But of course, leave it to him to be stuck staking out the girl who was "most likely" that secret mew. That girl just so happened to be you. The new idol of Tokyo, (f/n) (l/n). It wasn't that Kishu hated following around a pretty girl like yourself all day, but your schedule was a bit too busy for him to even begin to enjoy himself. At least when Ichigo went about her daily routine, he had time to sit back and admire. Since your schedule had him bouncing from job to job all day, he had come to find you quite annoying. Why was he going through all of this trouble if they weren't certain that you were that last mew?! All that time he had wasted following you around, he could have been watching Ichigo! The only thing keeping him from going to her was the punishment that was sure to follow if he had screwed up another mission. You had finally parted ways with your manager for the day and were on your way home. Maybe if you got home and in bed fast enough, he could finally go see his favorite little kitten. Speaking of kittens... Kishu was almost certain that he had heard a small mewl just now. He shrugged it off and just figured he was just exhausted from the busier schedule and was hearing things at that point. That was, until he looked up and realized that you were no longer in front of him. And to think that he was so close to finally finishing what he started! He wasn't just going to let you off the hook that quickly. Realizing he wasn't going to get to see Ichigo tonight, he growled and turned around to begin his search for you.

With you

You had heard a small meow coming from somewhere. Naturally your instinct and love for all animals had drawn you towards a dark alleyway. Quickly scanning over the area and confirming no other person was there you turned into said alleyway and began to search for the source of the noise. Not long after you began your search you had found a small box. When you lifted the box you felt relief and horror fill your entire being. There lying beneath the box, was a small kitten nudging at who you presumed was his/her dead mother. She looked like she had nursed her young as long as she was able, but this little guy was not ready to accept the fate of their mother. You fell to your knees and felt tears begin to form in your eyes. You reached out slightly to the mother just to confirm your horrors. You noticed the small kitten's eyes following you, but chose to ignore the questioning glance he had sent your way. You noticed something wrapped around the cats neck. She was obliviously abandoned. Reaching towards the collar with the hope of finding this cruel person and teaching them a lesson, you felt a sharp pain in your finger. The kitten had bit you. You gasped and pulled you hand back. Even after after her death, her litter was protecting her body. "I-I am truly sorry." You didn't know exactly what you were apologizing for, but somehow you felt compelled to go on. A few tears began to stream from your eyes as the words came pouring from your mouth. "Humans can be quite selfish can't they? Only taking what they want in the world and disposing of what inconveniences them. We are imperfect creatures. I know it's useless of me to say this and you probably won't even understand me-" You let out a choked sob and wiped away your tears with the back of your sleeve. The kitten seeming to understand your feelings cautiously crawled towards you and gently rubbed against you leg. Letting your hand fall to your side you began hopelessly sobbing to the world. As if trying to apologize for biting your finger, the kitten began to lick at your wound. There had to be other kittens in the litter. Where could they be though? As if on cue with your thoughts, you heard another more urgent mewl from deeper within the alleyway. It had to be another kitten and from the sounds of it, it was in some sort of danger. You stood up and wiped away your tears one last time. Walking quickly to the source of the sound, you stopped at the end, the small kitten from before not too far behind you. Looking down, it hadn't taken you long to notice the obvious stench of iron. Subtle, but there was no mistaking the distinct smell of blood. You kneeled down and took out your phone. You turned on the flashlight and began looking around for any sign of life in the hellish alleyway. When you scanned your flashlight, you caught a glimpse of something shiny mixed with something red in the corner. You flashed your phone once more to the corner and noticed some broken glass and it appeared that on some of the pieces someone or rather, something had recently cut itself on it. There was a bit of a blood trail following behind a large dumpster. Following the only lead you had, you mustered all of the strength you had and pulled the dumpster far enough from the wall to create an opening from which you could see a set of gleaming eyes staring back at you. You knelt down and stuck you hand out which still had one finger with blood leaking from your earlier wound. It seemed the kitten had bit you quite harshly. Sensing that your cut was not better, you small friend from earlier jumped out and began to lick and nuzzle your finger as he had done before. As if he knew that his litter mate had found trust in you, the other kitten came out from his hiding spot, limping and leaving a trail of blood behind. You instantly noticed the rather large shard of glass sticking out of its arm. You watched with hopeful eyes as the kitten sniffed and began to nudge you hand mewling. Almost as if asking for your help to which you were more than happy to comply. Moving rather quickly, you pulled out your handkerchief from your bag. You reached out to take get a grip on the shard quite surprised with how calm the kitten was acting about this. In one swift motion, you pulled the glass shard from its arm and wrapped the now bleeding arm tightly with your handkerchief. The kitten hissed loudly in response, but calmed down as soon as it's wound had been bandaged. It seemed that you had gain the trust of both kittens now. Even though you were certain they couldn't fully understand the words you were about to speak, you were sure that they would understand enough to come with you. "I know that you have been through more than I can imagine all because of my kind and although I am part of the last species on this earth you would ever trust, but knowing all you have been through, I would like to offer a new home for you. If you would please allow me one more chance to show you that although humans are selfish, some of us still have the heart and compassion to reach out and care for other creatures. I want to save the life your mother died protecting." To your relief, the feelings behind the words seemed to resonate with the kittens and both of them began to crawl into you lap. You let out a sigh of relief and began to softly stroke the tops of their heads.
