For all the women in Greece, none are sadder than I.
I died for my brother Polyneices, for Creon's rule I did defy.
"None shall bury his body," he said.
Well I could not let it be.
In the night I put to rest my own brother's dead body.
And for that, I have been sentenced to death
This is the woe of Antigone.Oh, my mother is my grandmother and my siblings are all dead.
I am the daughter of blind Oedipus, by misery our family is led.
I hope my sister Ismene got lost and changed her name.
But for now I remain in Hades, and my families fate is the same.This is the woe of Antigone, I have loved and I have lost.
This is the woe of Antigone, in the end my life was the cost.
This is the woe of Antigone, my fathers folly killed us all.
This is the woe of Antigone, but for the sake of my brother, the price of my life seemed small.A/N: This was actually a mythology assignment that my friend and I did together last year so I figured why not post it. :) Dedicated to _justanotherwriter_.
