Dear diary:

I am very excited because today is... MY BIRTHDAY! I am so excited! I'm not really sure what to do but as soon as I woke up, Lucy and a bunch of nurses and doctors (who have done my surgery's) brought me a cake! I was really happy about that. They sung "happy birthday" and gave me a ton of gifts! I was really :)! Once we shared cake and all that stuff everyone left, but Lucy stayed.
"So now do you know why you don't have to do all the surgery's?"
"Oh that's why. I thought I was actually aloud in the outside world." *doing air quotation marks at outside world.*
"Well, sorry to let your so called dreams down but you know your not aloud out until your better."
"Yes, yes I know but..."
"I should prob go now, I've got some work to do but I will catch up in a bit with you."
"Ok" As Lucy was walking out the door she turned around.
"Oh, and by the way someone left this letter for you."
"Thank you." She left the letter in my hands and walked out. The letter looked very fancy and smelled of strawberrys. I opened the letter and read it:

Dear Sam:
Happy Birthday! I cant believe that you are already 16! Wow sweet sixteen! What type of gifts did you get? I know that I have not been visiting you, so at 5:00 sharp I will! Today! I have a day off so I will be vistiting you although I do have some work to do. Are you still writing in that diary? I do so hope you are! Love you and I am looking forward to seeing you!

Wow! I cant believe she wants to visit me! I was beaming with excitment for the whole day! I wonder if she is going to get me a gift! Oh well, the gift was her! I could not wait!
*5 hours later*
.... .... .... .... .... .... .... .....
I was counting down the hours until mom would come. 4:54 AHHHHH. Can't time go faster when you need to?
.... .... .... .... ...
FINALLY. It's 5:00! Where is she? I looked outside to try and find her car. No sign. Lucy walks in. "Hey here is another letter; BIRTHDAY GIRL!" She handed me the letter with a cheessey smile.
"Thanks Lucy." Lucy leaves quitley. I open the letter once again, knowing it's problay from mom. The letter reads:

Dear Sam:
I am so so sorry but I can't visit you today! I just got a bunch of work piled up on my desk, and I have been so buzy! I am really sorry! Keep writing in that diary of yours babe.
Love mom xox
