Chapter 1

Emma's POV

The day was like any other: I would take Henry to school and then go to the police station to start on helping people around town, with Regina yelling at me every once in while when I didn't do something right. But today was different. I went to Regina's today, since she called me to say that she wanted to talk about something in town. I told her that I would be there as soon as I could. I arrived shortly after the phone call and was greeted by Regina outside. 

"So what's going on?" I ask Regina as we make our way into her house.

"You don't know?" She asks closing the front door. "There's new people in town and there's something off about them."

"Well, what did you notice about them?" I ask as we sit down on a couch in her private study. 

"Well they came into town really late last night. I think it was about two in the morning, and I only knew they came in because I was working late. Anyway they went to the woods toward an old cabin and I haven't seen them in town since they went out that way." She explained as I tried to think of an explanation why.

"Well let's see if they come out and walk around town tonight. If not then we'll go check that cabin in woods." I told her and she nodded in agreement. 

I left not too long after our conversation and went to go pick up Henry, his school bus just arrived when I went to the bus stop to pick him up. He told me how his day went as I took him to Regina's for the night. By the time I was home it was already six and getting dark. I quickly ate a sandwich just to hold me over until I came home after seeing if the strangers, that Regina said came into town, would be wondering around town. 

I sat in my car at different locations until it was three in morning before I spotted two people, what looked to be teenagers, walking around town with some kind of small animal in one of the teenagers' hands. I quickly drive over to the two and get out of the car. 

"Hi, I'm Sheriff Swan. I haven't seen you around before. Do you want to tell me what you two are doing around town so late at night?" I ask them. 

One of the teenagers was a girl about 5'4". She had jet black hair and the lighting on the streets was terrible, but I could've swore she had red eyes. She was wearing a black leather jacket with a plain black T-shirt and black pants with all black shoes. The other teenager was a few inches taller than her with short, messy black hair. The most gorgeous blue eyes you could see on a guy and very chiseled features. He also had that really hot way of having stubble after not shaving for a couple days. He was wearing the same type of outfit like the girl but he was wearing a long trench coat. 

"We're just hunting and we found a rabbit. We thought we would make it into stew. Care to join us? You must be hungry working so late." The girl said.  

"I would love to, but I don't know anything about you two. Care to give me a little background?" I ask knowing that I might be walking into a trap, even though they're just teenagers. 

"Of course, how rude of us. I'm Scott and this is my sister Skylar. We came here for a new start and to get away from people that already knew us. You see people hated us where we came from, so we wanted somewhere to feel at home. Anything you want to know?" Scott explained. 

"No I think that will do. Now where are you two headed?"

"We're going home to cook this rabbit like we told you, but we're exhausted from hunting can you give us a ride?" Skylar asked. I noded and lead them to my sheriff car. We all crawled in and they gave me directions to the cabin in the woods that Regina thought they were staying at. 

"Here we are. Is that all you two needed?" I ask as I let them out from the child locked backseat.

"No I think that will do it. Thank you sheriff," Scott said as he helps his sister out of the car.

"Actually there is one thing you could do for us," Skylar said as I tried to turn to face them only to get pinned to the car with both hands behind my back. They take my handcuffs and cuff me, then take me inside. 

The place was like a mansion on the inside. It had high ceilings and modern day structures all around. The inside was also completely wood other than the brick fire place that went up and out of the ceiling. They brought me to the couch and threw me on it. Now sitting down they stood in front of me with devilish smiles. Skylar went into the other room for a second and returned only to gag me from behind, then she knocked me out.
