Hidden Pain...

Bus Money and Letters

I needed to get back to the B & B to charge my phone. The only trouble was I had no idea where I was. I couldn't remember how I got to that awful place so I can not retrace my steps. I'll just have to wing it.

I looked down at my watch, I could barely read it. It had scratches all over it. I've got no idea what the time is.  I just carried on walking, walking into the unknown.

I spotted an old woman not so far away from me. Without thinking i jogged up to her.

"I'm sorry to bother you but I'm a little lost, i'm not from round here. I haven't got a---" I was cut off by the woman as she interrupted me.

"I'm sorry, I can't help you.." She said whilst looking down.

"Oh, it's just you looked nice, I didn't mean to bother anyone."

The Woman looked up at me, instantly her eyes widened.

"Oh well maybe I could help you, What was it you wanted my dear?"

"Well I'm a bit lost at the moment, I have no idea where I am and I've got no money to get a bus or anything, could you give me directions to the nearest town or something? please, it would really help." I asked sheepishly.

"I've got a solotion to your problem, We're 10 minuets away from a bus station, if you walk out of this park, down that alleyway you'll come to a bus station. It goes pretty much anywhere. I used to go on it when I was a young'en."

"But i haven't got any money...I can't get the bus for free can I?" I replied, half jokily.

"I can easily sort that out." She said. "I need these letters to be posted urgently. By the looks of it you're going to pass a post box before me. As there is one down that alley. Do you think you could post them for me? I'll give you the money for the bus."

"Are you sure? I would be ever so greatful! I would never normaly accept that, you have to understand I'm not a begger! I promise! Thankyou so much!" I almost shouted, My faith in humanity was restored.

She handed over the letters to me. I put them in the front pocket of my hoodie and she gave me enough money for 2 buses, in case I had to change, and some sweeties (as she said) I was over joyed.

I was almost running through the park. I just couldn't wait to get back to the B & B. I slowed my pace down because I was a group of young boys. They looked rough. I didn't want to get judged..as i did so I took the letters out of my pocket. Just out of interest I looked at the envelope. I didn't notice anything at first, I was about to put them back in my pocket until i noticed the little logo on the corner.

I had seen that logo before. "The Maniac Drug...."

I hastily posted the letters and rushed off to catch my bus. I had a long think about it all. Why was I there? What did It all mean?... God knows...
