KAILEE'S POV

The morning seemed to drone on and on today at school and of course Justin wasn't here the first time we had a project to work on. He came this morning but just had to skip last period.

This is just my luck.

"Go find him once the bell rings." Marcie suggested. She and Nicolette decided to sit at my lab table with me since it was 'so pitiful that I was alone,' in Nic's words at least.

"And how exactly am I going to do that?" I turned to look at Marcie as she scribbled something down in the project's outline that I now have to fill myself.

"It's Justin were talking about," she ran her slender fingers through her platinum blonde hair, "everyone will know where he is."

I rolled my eyes but decided to test Marcie's theory anyhow.

I slipped out of my seat and walked over to Madison Tykes' desk. She was a pretty girl with thick dark curls and a Spanish accent on some of her words. All the girls wanted to be her, and all the guys wanted to do her.

I cleared my throat, "Madison?"

She looked up at me, her green pencil in between her full lips, "yes?" She hummed.

"Do you by chance happen to know where Justin is? You see he's my partner on this project and-"

"No Chica. Sorry." Madison shrugged her shoulders, "after school no one knows where he goes. If he's with a girl he takes them anywhere but home. When I was with him he did me so good in the back of his car..." Her cheeks flushed as she revealed in the memory, "best sex I've ever had."

I pretended not to look disgusted as I mumbled a quick 'thanks anyways' and scurried off to find someone else who might know where he was.

I asked around to countless people, but all I got was nothing. No one knows where his house or he is unless Justin wants them to.
I find this somewhat unsettling, but I'm just going to have to live with it.

"He'll probably turn up in the school parking lot or something," Nicolette murmured, never lifting her gaze up from the outline she swiped off of Marcie, "he's in AP bio for crying out loud. Obviously he's good in school so he won't miss the project."

"Yeah, I guess." Now I'm not saying that he is, but he very well could be just taking this course to get with some potential doctors and may actually be sucking out. No evaluation has really occurred for him, but I'll wait until one of our unit tests. He's sure to fail them.

"Ry!" Madison called out all flirty out if the blue.

Ryan Butler isn't in my bio class, let alone in any class. That idiot skips every period other than lunch to hang out with Justin and his clique, which is why I was so surprised when he appeared in our class, and even more so when he called out my name.

"Yo K Williams!"

JUSTIN'S POV [I told you it was v soon!]

Furiously driving back to school before it's over is such a hassle. I nearly got pulled over for a speeding ticket and if it wasn't for Ryan texting me on how my Bio class is starting this major project, I wouldn't have even known.

School is basically all I have control over. My life's a mess, family is shit, and if I ever want to leave this town, go out and actually be something, then I have to give my coursework all I've got.

I want to matter in life. I need to otherwise what's the point of living?

As soon as the school parking lot came into view I messily parked my car and skipped steps as I ran up to my biology class.
As expected, I saw Ryan flirting with Kailee.

Thankfully, his terrible womanizing skills were enough to keep her from leaving class, seeing as the bell rung roughly five minutes ago.

"Kailee," I breathed once I entered the classroom, steadily trying to decrease my heart rate.

Her icy blue eyes widened in surprise at the sight of me showing up out of nowhere.

"J-Justin? What- I thought you left?" She shook her head and as she did so her dark tresses fell to frame her face.

"I had something to deal with." I licked my lips as I rubbed my chilled hands together before slipping them into my pockets, "so my place or yours?"

She raised her brow, clearly taken aback by my forward question,

"to work on the project..." I added.

Instantly, her expression softened, "Actually the library would be better." She spoke quietly.

She probably doesn't want someone as pathetic as me coming to her house. I'd be too embarrassed if her parents are there anyways, but it still stings a bit.

"I'll see you there." I replied curtly, exiting the room before she has the opportunity to protest.

For some reason I didn't get the urge to be flirtatious with her. Kailee seems too... Innocent. And as much as I like to corrupt all things good, I do have my limits.

Before I knew it I was walking up the steps and into the library. My phone buzzed a couple times between certain intervals, but I didn't bother checking it. Getting my work done is more important.

Little did I know that waiting for Kailee to come with the project outline was like waiting for rain in a desert; it took forever, and eventually I became more and more irritated. Call me obsessed but I need to do well on everything if I want to do well in the future and her not showing up for over half an hour is making me agitated.

I have nothing other than school. It sounds lame and totally dorky but that's how I am. Thank goodness no one knows or I wouldn't get laid as much as I do.

Finally, over an hour later, Kailee showed up with her dark canvas bag and a bag of craft supplies in her hand.

I glared as she neared me, clearly frustrated that she was for one, super late, and two, smiling like she did nothing wrong.

"Hi," she exhaled while placing her bags on the wooden counter top,

"Hi?" I scoffed, "hi?"

"Hello..?" Kailee stretched out awkwardly, not knowing why I was so upset,

"Are you serious Kailee? I've been waiting for over an hour and all you can say is 'hi'? I can't believe you wouldn't even apologize or explain yourself!" I threw my hands up angrily, my face turning red.

She smiled despite everything and shook her head, "What do you mean? I sent you a million texts."

Dumbfounded, I slipped my hands into my pocket and retrieved my iPhone. She wasn't lying. There were a good seven texts and one missed called from an unknown number, all explaining that she'd be late.

Kailee's arms were folded neatly across her chest as she raised her brow at me, a small smirk playing on her lips.

Too embarrassed to say anything about the matter, I snatched the craft bag from her side of the table and began taking out the supplies, "let's just get this over with."I mumble.

She laughed under her breath, "I couldn't agree more."
