I almost started hyperventilating; Scott Finch and I had bad blood, really bad blood, between us. I saw a grin creep to his face. "What, cat got your tongue?" He laughed.

The last thing I remember, is the felling of it all just being a bad dream.

Scott stood over me as tears poured down my cheeks, having a high school boyfriend wasn't everything it was cracked up to be. Jenny said it would be fun, so while I was fourteen and Scott was seventeen we could still date.

I had big hand print across my cheek and my eye was watering from the sting. "Don't you ever say no to me," He growled. I cowered and covered my face.

I heard him grab something, he pulled me over by my hair and chopped it off, hacked at it. He knew I loved my hair, at that age my hair was so beautiful too, it was wavy and all the same length, down to my lower back. I cried and covered my face, not daring to move for fear he would cut me.

This had been okay before this, he was demanding, but he never hurt me. Today was the first time. When I uncovered my eyes I saw that he held a mirror in front of me, he had obviously hacked at my hair with a knife because it was uneven and shorter in some places, the places where he had sawed with the knife were covered in split ends.

I covered my mouth with my hands and looked up at him with wide eyes. He grinned down at me, this had been the effect he was looking for.

He kept me there for two days before pushing me out of a car far from home. I almost die out there.

He had scrubbed me clean, used someone else's car, there was no way that he could ever be proven guilty. My mother didn't press charges.

"Carly!" The voice was full of concern, and seemed to be familiar. It felt like two minutes before I slowly opened my eyes, the beep of a machine near me assured me that I was alive, and in the hospital.

I took a deep breath and glanced around. Dad was standing near me, the black stubble showed he hadn't shaved in a while. He was crying, tears flowing from his green eyes.

"Daddy." I whispered and he jumped, before he laughed.

"You hit your head hard, pumpkin." He rubs my shoulder. "I'm glad you're awake." He kissed my cheek.

And enter mother dearest to your left. She looked furious as she stomped in. She shook her finger at me. "If I have to leave work because of you one more time, I swear to Christ I will disown you." She snapped.

My father stood up. "Sarah, calm down." He took my mother's shoulders. "She's just a kid, our little daughter." He reminded.

My mother laughed, she had such a light laugh. "Oh honey you know how much I hate being pulled from work," she told him and kissed him. "How long has she been conscious?"

"About five minutes."

My mother went pale. "She's been here for two days. She should have been conscious for longer than that."

Mom was on a business trip with the other six sins, I knew they must have been so upset when she had to leave. "I'm half human," I remind her. She glanced at me, as if she had already forgotten I was here.

"Carly," My mother sat beside me and pet my hair. I flinched and winced every time she came close to where a gash must have opened up my head.

I pushed her hand away. "Don't touch me." I muttered. "If you hate me that much go back to work." I looked away and my father sighed.

Mother looked about ready to light aflame right then.

"Carly, you're an adult, if you want your mother to leave, ask kindly." He told me, and I looked at my mother.
