Maya took my hand and we followed her two cousins into the house. As we stepped in, I heard a massive amount of chatter and laughter coming from the kitchen. I gulped a lump in my throat while sweat began to form on my covered forehead.
"You okay?" Maya asked concerned.
"Yeah."
"Maya!" said an elder, who I took upon as being her grandmother. The woman was shorter than Maya, gray-haired, with glasses. Maya's hand released and instantly became occupied by their lovingly hug. I smiled at the sight; Maya seemed really happy in her grandmother's arms. It was one of those moments where you just want to coo, "Awe!". This particular grandmother was Maya's mom's mother.
"Oh! Grandma, this is my boyfriend Tren Walsh."
I stuck my hand out, ready to exchange a formal handshake, but instead, I was forced into a hug from the woman.
"So you're the handsome feller that my Maya has talked about."
I laughed in response, and my cheeks showing a tint of pink.
"Come on!" Maya led me into another mysterious area.
As soon as all four of the necessary people were by the computer, Maya assisted Jason in logging into her twitter.
"Who do you think could've done it?" Jason asked while typing in any information needed for log in.
"I'm pretty sure it's them." I threw out.
"It's not them!" Maya protested. "It's probably just another random creep-"
"Who knows about me?" I filled in. "Maya, you don't tweet about me...although I wish you would." I said, nudging her arm closest to me show I was only kidding around.
"I will if you want me to." She spoke in a tone that I could not define being sarcastic or truthful. So apparently she did not take it as a joke like I expected, or wanted.
"I'm not forcing you to do anything." I clarified.
"I found it!" Jason shouted proudly, which seized our disagreement.
"Who?!" Maya and I both demanded.
"Okay, it is-"
I huffed as Maya's phone rang. I watched her pull it out, unbelievably. Jason, Tyler, and I both delivered glares toward her.
"Hello?" She answered.
"HOLY CRAP!" Leah squealed into the phone, making her pull the phone from my ear.
"Leah what do you want? I'm kind of busy." She harshly asked.
"WHAT!" I heard her shout into the phone, loosing patience.
"Oh, right! Chase Lyon asked me out!" I unintentionally overheard Leah brag. Maya rolled her eyes, caring less about her friend's love life.
"Yeah, well that's great. I got to go." Before Maya hung up, Leah said one last sentence, one that I could not pick out. "Okay, bye." She finally hung up. "Sorry, guys. Jason, who hacked me?" Our focus transitioned back to twitter.
"Oh right!" His body spun the chair back around to face the computer screen. "Apparently, this guy is on your varsity football team...he sounds like a bastard from his tweets..." Jason read on. While he described the hacker, I tried with all my power to think of the hacker, but nobody came to mind. "and his name is, Alec." Maya's body froze in place. I worried that she knew some information that I did not.
"Maya?" I questioned. She remained in her current position, allowing only her eyes to rotate and see me.
"How do you know for sure?" I went on, asking Jason.
