Josh's POV
Josh hollis watched as samantha walked across the quad. He
couldn't get her of his mind. Even though he was going out with one of
her friends, he lately noticed that Sam was the center if his thoughts.
He wasn't sure if Sam was even alissa's friend. After him and his
girlfriend had recently had a fight, (himself being the one blamed for
it by none other than alissa) he noticed a cold feeling from Sam to
alissa. Plus there was always the fact that Sam sided with me
immediately every time. Of course he couldn't know for certain because
he couldn't read her thoughts.
Josh wasn't paying attention to anything but her and didn't notice
the *shape shifters that came out of the woods. At once they barreled
into her pushing her to the ground. Josh shot up immediately and raced
at inhuman speed across the lawn, not caring who saw him. One went for
her throat, teeth extracted, ready to tear, but josh pushed him away.
The other took advantage of the distraction and tore into her arm.
Josh grabbed its head, twisting it 360 degrees, completely removing
it from its body. The other got her shoulder with its claws and it
cut deep. The smell of her blood** was overwhelming now, but josh
continued to protect her. Josh took his pocket knife out and slit it's
throat. With them dealt with, he turned his attention to Samantha. She
was loosing a lot of blood and he froze momentarily.
•What if she dies?• He thought. He didn't know why, but he knew he wouldn't bear to
live without her. Tears were streaming down his face now, and he
couldn't stop himself. He screamed, filled with agony, catching the
attention of a teacher walking from the building. The teacher ran to
him noticing the bleeding girl. The shape shifters had already
desinagrated, leaving nothing but him and a wounded Samantha.
The teacher immediately called the police but josh continued to
hold her. He would never forget her screams, the look on her face when
they tackled her...and the look on her face when she noticed josh
beside her. it was surprised, scared, sad, and happy at the same time.
After that she just stared at him until she lost consciousness, never
speaking a word.
