Beauty is such a meticulous thing.

Slight changes dramatically affecting the way people look at you,

The way you look at yourself.

How can beauty be measured if the idea of it changes from person to person?

Maybe by length of hair,

As long as a mermaid's.

By height,

Standing as tall as trees.

By color of eyes,

Bluer than the ocean. Greener than grass.

By money spent on surgeries,

A nip, a pull, a tuck, a stretch.

By food that passes through our lips,

Just enough so that we don't faint.

By calories eaten and pounds lost,

A number lower than a dead man's heart rate.

With society's ideas of beauty so messed up

It's hard to know what is right from wrong in the things we do to achieve it.

It becomes twisted and warped in our minds.

And that's what makes beauty so beautifully ugly.
