Chapter 35- New Year's Eve Party: New Beginnings

MIA'S POV

Okay. So, I think I look great.  I can already hear the visitors, murmuring downstairs. I left my hair straightened as it is and pinned some bobby pins behind my ear. Ate honestly doesn't approve my attire so I changed it. I wore a dress which has an orange color at the top and a zigzag prints at the skirt. Looks really great though. 

Whooo. Breathe in, Breathe out. I sat down my bed facing the mirror. I frowned and kept thinking of what happened earlier. You should have seen the look on my face when I saw my Dad. He can't barely recognize me causing me to leave. I guess my brother is right, I should forget him but why do I feel a sudden urge to meet and know him after 12 years? Does it because he has 3 children in his second wife and Kuya and I have 3 siblings or is it just I want him to come back and take a modest responsibilty as a good dad to Kuya and I.

I heard the door opened and I snapped my lowered face into the door. 

"Mia, madami ng tao. Bakit nandito ka pa?"

 

I look at my brother with decieve. He recognizes it. He shut the door slowly and sat beside me. He placed his arms around my shoulder.

"What's wrong?"

he asked.

 

"Nothing"

I gave him a light smile even though I'm feeling a sudden pain inside. Ayaw kong sabihin sa kanya tungkol sa nakita ko si Dad kanina. Yet the last time I told him that I saw Dad at the park, his mood changes and shows a hatred plaster on his face.

 

"Wala daw. Sus, kilala na kita Bunsoy! Sinaktan ka ni Terrence? Saan na yang mokong na yan"

 

"Hindi yun kuya."

 

"Eh ano nga?"

 

"I saw him"

 

"Who?"

I looked at him and winked.

"DAD"

 

"So? I don't care"

 

"See. That's the fact that I wont tell you that I saw Dad earlier at the beach. Uggh"

I was pissed. Paano ba naman he insisted na sabihin ko tapos sasabihin niya na he doesn't care?  I mean, he's still our Dad and I understand that Dad left us but he must show a little bit of respect towards him.

He stood up.

"I don't want to hear anything regards to this matter. We should go downstairs"

He held my hand but I clasp against his strong hands immediately.

 

"Kuya I don't want to argue against this matter also. I just want you to forgive Dad for giving such a pain into your heart. He is a great Dad, I can tell you that. He has 3 children where he has raised and taken care of with his second wife."
