It was dark, the splash of muddy puddles echoed next to my ear, fear struck me at every point of my body. I was flat on my chest drenched in a mixture of my own blood and sweat. My heart was racing as canon fire ringed through the sky. If I didn't move soon, I would be done for. I crawled as fast as my adrenaline would let me, I would not die here! Shadows of the enemy revealed their positions to me as I kept a keen eye on my surroundings, crawling faster, and faster. I had to find my squad, I had to make sure they were okay and had survived. I reached an alley, quietly getting to my knees I again examined my space to see that it was clear, I rushed to the darkened alley way as fast as I could. The sound of explosions still shocked the air as I ran to the next alley. I came to a dimly lit road, surveying the surroundings, and using my heightened senses to detect any danger, after checking to see if it was clear I ran across the street into the building hoping to have a minute to relax. I shut the door, panting hard when all of a sudden I heard a familiar voice. "Get down on the ground!" he demanded. "Relax Jack it is me! Alex!" He walked around to the front of me making sure I was who I said I was never letting down his guard for a second until he was sure. He helped me to my feet and began patching me up, stopping the blood was a main priority at this time. "What the hell happened to you man?" Jack inquired. "Earthquake" was all I could manage to say as I still tried desperately to catch my breath. "Anyone else survive?" Jack asked as he continued to work on my wound. "As far as I know only you and me" I responded my panting slowing down. After he had finished cleaning and dressing my wound we again heard the blast of a cannon, "Come on, we have to go now!" Jack exclaimed, weapons drawn we ran to the exit door looking out silently to see someone blocking our path, but who was it?
