(Jessica's POV)

At the sleepover, Derek and I were starting to get a little closer. He and I have been texting me nonstop over the past couple of days.

Today, Wednesday and Derek had finally asked me out. I was so excited but didn't know what to wear. So, I decided to do an emergency shopping trip. I invited the girls, but Athena was still sick. Courtney was working at the local, pet shop. But Melody was free, so it was only us to. I am meeting her at the mall and we are going to have lunch at Noodles & Company.

Taking a quick shower and blow drying my hair. Changing into jeans and a warm sweatshirt. Putting my snow boots on, grabbing my purse. Keys in hand, and I walk outside to my car. Which was a red jeep and I drive to the mall.

Arriving at the mall, around noon, and heading into the restaurant. I see that I was the first one to get here. I get a table for us and order my drink. A nice glass of ice cold water, because I really never like soda. I sit there waiting for Melody when I see her drive up in her white mustang. Her black hair blowing in the cold wind. She was bundled up for the cold. I wave to her as soon as she walks in.

Melody comes over to me, sitting across from me at our table. The waiter comes back asking for Melody's drink. And asking if we were ready to order our food. After, we order and eat. We walk back to our cars and park over next to the mall. Heading inside to go do some shopping.

After, a couple hours shopping I finally have found the outfit I was going to wear. It is a nice white sweater with a red different shaded scarf. Holey jeans, and tannish-brown boots. With also a new purse, which is tan. Melody had also picked out some cute shirts, and jeans.

"So, where are you and Derek going for a date?" Melody asks me.

"I think we are going to have a small dinner at a restaurant. Then he said he had something planned, but it is going to be a surprise. He just told me to wear something warm, so that's what I'm wearing." I say with a laugh.

Melody laughs along with me. "How are you and Tyler?" I ask.

She stops smiling for a moment, "Fine, I guess. We just haven't been hanging out that much the past couple of days. I try to text him and he always says he is busy. I just don't know anymore, but hopefully the camping trip this weekend will bring us a little closer." She says, with a hopeful small smile.

We window shop for another hour and then I have to leave to get ready for my date. I say goodbye to Melody and hop into my car. Heading home. My parents aren't home. My mom is at the bank, working, and my dad is in the office for his own business of selling computers.

I park in the driveway and lock my car. Heading in through the garage and heading upstairs to my room. I kind of like being the only child, but sometimes it gets lonely in this house. I carry my shopping bags upstairs and start to get ready.

Turning on some music, Disney music! I rock out and start to get dressed. Heading to my bathroom, and turning the curling iron on to curl my hair. Sliding on my jeans, and a white tank top. Then my socks and boots. Walking into the bathroom and curling my hair a little bit. To have a nice curl, not to tight. I then pull my sweater over my head, making sure not to mess up my hair. I then apply some simple makeup to let my eyes pop. Finishing up with some clear lip gloss, when I get a text from Derek. Saying that he was on his way to pick me up.

I felt my nerves start to come out, getting butterflies in my stomach. I grab my purse and head downstairs into the living room to wait for him. A couple minutes later he comes driving down the street, in his black Hummer. I gasp, when I see it, wondering when he had bought that. Knowing they were very expensive. I hear him honk for me, and I wait a minute to make sure I don't think I was waiting for him. I then walk outside and lock my front door. Heading over to the passenger side, and hoping in. Warm air came out and warmed me up. I put my seatbelt on and smiled over at Derek.
