A few weeks passed and it was all kind of the same.
I'd have a coffee, go to school, hang out with my friends, survive through the lessons, go to the library, go home, do my homework and go to sleep.
It was easy like that. With the occasional sassy comments coming from David of course.
But I managed through it. What worried me right now was school.
December started and it was time for us to get our grades. I am a straight A student so I guessed, I wouldn't have problems with my grades but I was still uncomfortable with the thought of exams. My studying technique has been proved successful for now and I just sat down behind a desk in the library when David came in.
"Hi," he said.
"Hi," I greeted him, opening my Math notebook. I began reading and didn't notice him sitting on the desk."What is this?" He asked holding a paper in his hand.
"It's my exam from last year. You know, the teachers don't usually change much so," I explained."So you're kind of cheating," he said teasingly. He was mocking me.
"I don't cheat but at least my grades are good."
"Actually, I'm probably gonna be an A student this year," he simply replied.
Say what?!?!
I could practically hear my jaw dropping on the floor. He..? How? What?! I didn't get it."Ha ha. Nice joke here," I said simply because I just didn't believe him.
"No, seriously," he said.
Okay, what? In our school, guys, especially those who play sports, are known for putting sport first and having low grades and trouble in school. How did he have good grades?
I mean, how did he find the time?"Oh, well, good for you then," I said clearly confused.
"Yep. Could you help me out?"
What?
"Help you? How?"
"I don't know. Could you give me this test so I can study it, and prepare better?"
I just stared at him. I couldn't believe it.
"Yes, of-of course, here," I managed to choke out.
"Thanks," he said and sat in his chair.
I managed to get back to my Math and completely lost myself in the numbers.
"HELLO?!" His voice shook me out from my thoughts.
The librarian was already looking angrily towards us so I just shot an apologetic look towards her.
"What?" I returned back to him.
"What was with Boston last night?" He started his usual tease.
Well it wasn't my fault the Bruins weren't playing so well currently. Ok, I admit it, they were awful for the last few games. But so was LA!
"And how are the Kings, huh?" I asked him with the same tone.
I wasn't letting him insulting my team.
"Yeah, yeah, we're still gonna win the Cup," he said annoyed.
I couldn't help but chuckle.
I shook my head and looked around and- "Oh my god!"It was snowing. The first snow of this year.
I stood up and went to the window. It was beautiful. I always enjoyed snow. Everything was so peaceful."What? It's snowing?" He came next to me.
"Yes it is," I said, my voice filled with amazement.
I don't care if it was 'only snow'. I liked it.I watched the snowflakes falling for a few minutes and then returned to my studying. I was so focused, I missed the class bell.
When I finally looked around me, the library was already closing. I was the last one inside. How typical.
I packed my bag and got out as the last bell rang. No one was usually at school at this time. I dreamily walked down the stairs, enjoying the warmth of school, when I heard footsteps behind me. I stopped and turned around.
It was David.
"What are you still doing here," I couldn't help asking.
"I had a class," he simply replied with his hands in his pockets.
We walked quietly to the lockers. I put my books inside and dressed myself.
Soon I stepped out of school. The air was cold and it was snowing.
My clothes weren't prepared for that so I shivered."Cold, huh," I heard a mock behind me.
"Well some of us don't spent all of our lives in Siberia ice kingdom!"
It was true. He spent so many time on the ice that cold was his usual environment.
"Well see you. Tss, Boston,..." He stepped forward and started walking in the snow.
I began my way home. The air around my was freezing, but somehow I felt warm.
