It was the last day that Brianna was going to be staying in Georgia. She was packing her
third suitcase as she texted her friends Blair and Kelly, and her cousin/best friend Princeton.
They were all there within the next 5 minutes. Brianna walked out of her house and down the
street to the park slowly as she took in the view that she was so used to for 7 years. On her way
there, she thought about how she was going to miss her friends and family now that she’s
moving to California. Brianna hated that she was going through this again.
She finally turned in the park entrance and saw three depressed looking teens; Blair was
sitting on a built in bench on the swing set with his hoody up and looking up at his iphone, Kelly
was gently rocking back and forth on the swing, and Princeton was leaning against a bar that
was supporting the swing set staring into space with his headphones on. She could tell he was
heartbroken even though the expression on his face was blank yet hard. He always wore
sunglasses because it was just his thing.
Brianna walked towards them knowing tears were to come throughout the day, but she
still put on a weak smile.
“Hey,” Brianna said as she projected her voice with no fear. They all stood at the same time
with a surprised face. Blair took off his hoody, gave her a faint smirk and looked down.
Princeton took off his headphones and fixed his curly Blexican afro (he called himself that
because he was half black half Mexican). Kelly stood there with her arms folded rocking on her
tippy toes and heels. She was the first one to run to Brianna and hug her.
“I’m going to miss you chica,” she said with a small voice as she hugged her.
“Same here,” Brianna said after a sniffle.
Blair walked towards her and said “so I guess this is it,” as he sighed, His hands thumbs
were half way in his pocket as if he was afraid to hug her but it also showed that he want to
hold her for as long as possible.
“Come here,” Brianna said extending her arms as permission for him to hold her as long as he
wanted.
They stood there for about 15 seconds with a warm smile on their faces and the sight of
them together made Kelly and Princeton smile, even though Kelly couldn’t stand Blair. Brianna’s
head rested on his chest and the two rocked side to side the way people do when they hug. Brianna
lifted her head and stared into Blair’s eyes. He did the same.
“So you gonna kiss her or what dude?” Princeton’s voice interrupted the deep moment.
“You know you want to. You’ve had a crush on her since she moved here but you weren’t too man
