Has something ever happened to you that you just... couldn't explain?
Our story begins on the day I began dating a boy named Dilan. Now, there were about 8 of us at the start. Dilan's friend Braig began dating my close friend Jane. Along with Dilan and Braig came their other two friends, Even (pronouced Evan, but he's very particular about how he spells it), and Hayner. I say along, because when I and Jane began going out with Dilan and Braig, we all started hanging out as a group. However, Jane and I both brought friends too. I brought my other friend Zoey, and Jane was accompanied by our mutual friend Ever.
Now we don't live in a world such as the one you know. We live where worlds are seperated, paths between locked, and broken.
Everyone's heart holds darkness. And the darkness in their hearts gives birth to creatures who only wish to mutiply, and cannot think for themselves.
And that comes to what we learn, I and my companions. Actucally, we don't have teachers, we have masters. Wel ive with them in small worlds that can only be found by other masters and their pupils. I live with Master Exen, and I live with Braig and Hayner as pupils. Anyways, we learn about how to use a special weapon to destroy these creatures and restore peace to all of the worlds. The worlds we live in with our masters are protected, but all the other worlds are practically helpless.
Our weapons are known as oblivions. I can't say for sure, but I think they're called that because we can either put anything to obivion, or bring it back from oblivion... Or at least thats Jane always says. Ive never asked Master Exen, mainly because I never really cared. I always thought I never needed to know, because all I was ever worried about was how well I fought, and whether or not i would be prepared for the scar of excelence test.
Everyone of us (oblivion wielders, that is) has a scar in the palm of our hand. It is identical for each of us, the scar that shows that we are destined to be oblivion wielders.
One day, Braig and I were out practing combat in the courtyard, and so far, I was winning.
"So I see you've gotten better since the last time i beat you!" Braig says as he lunges at me with his oblivion in hand. I set leg back and put my oblivion up to block his attack. As usual, it works. He grunts as he falls back onto the ground. I laugh, spinning my oblivion in my hand, and bring to rest across my shoulder. "You? Beat me? Ha. Like that would ever happen." He goes to jump up, but I kick him in the chest, sending him back onto the ground... causing a slight dent. Whoops. "Alright fine... you win... This time." He stabs his oblivion into the ground, and uses it to hoist himself up. I
I walk over to the wall leading down a steep drop, and sit down on the wall. I look up at the stars and stare, putting my hands behind me to hold myself up. Braig comes and hops over the wall, folding his arms across his chest and rests his back against the wall. "One time Master Exen told me that all of those stars, are just other worlds." I look at him. "He told me that too," I say "And the light they shine down on us, is the light from the hearts of the people there." He laughs and looks up at me. "You know, sometimes you're so girly, I wonder how you can fight so well." I lean down and punch him in the shoulder. We laugh and continue looking up at the stars.
We sit there for a while, and soon we hear someone coming down the steeps into the courtyard. Hayner comes up to the wall, jumps over, and sits down next to me. I look at him. "How'd your lesson with Master Exen go?" He turns to me, putting his hands behind his head. "It was good. He told me e wants us all in the grand room tomorrow." Braig looks up at us, and puts his hands up to the wall to pull himslef up. "Why? Did you break something again, Hayner?" He asks with a smirk. " Hayner yanks his hands away from his head. "No! He didn't say. He just said to let you guys know." I laugh slightly. "Hey, what are you laughing about?' I look at them, and smile. "I can help it, you two would make the strangest brothers." They both look at each other "What?" Then they smile and begin laughing too.
Later, we're all in the court yard, laying on the ground watching the night sky. Braig and I stand up. We look down at Hayner. "We're gonna head back." I say, with Braig managing a nod. Hayner sits up. "Me too." We start walking the steps to get over the bridge with Hayner following. We walk over the bridge to get back to the main castle. Well, its smaller than a castle, but Master Exen calls it a castle.
That would be the last night, we would spend under the same stars.
Morning comes fast, and I quickly get dressed. I'm ready for the Scar of excellence test. I walk out of room, ready to face whatever happens. No matter who gets the mark, I will be supportive. I walk down the stairs to meet Braig and Hayner outside the main hall - where we will go against eachother.
"Morning, guys." I say. Braig yawns. "Morning." Hayners staring at the grand doors, waiting for the test to begin. "Oh!" I remember I have gifts for us, and they turn to me. I pull three charms out of my pocket, one blue, one green, and one orange, each shaped like a seashell. I toss the green to Hayner, and the orange to Briag. They catch them, and look up at me. "I made them for us, they're good luck charms," I hold mine up to the window, letting the light shine through it, causing the room to turn blue. They do the same, making the room bright with many colors. "They say that someone out there, theres this beach with special shells, and that if you share them with someone, your destinies become intertwined."
And with that statement, the doors open, and we enter the grand hall, pocketing our good luck charms. We look at eachother one last time, and whisper "do great".
We walk in, side by side, ready for whatever this test throws at us. Master Exen stands in front of the giant stain glass window, hands behind his back.
