Shadow's P. O. V.
The inside was truly beautiful. It reminded me of the White palace. I almost started crying there in the middle of the lobby. I missed home. I want to go back to The Clouds. I want to hug Mirrana and Faith. Faith is my only friend. Well, I only talked to her. She was like me. She didn't like company just like me, that's how we became friends. She has beautiful long black hair that shine blue, really pale skin, her wings are midnight blue with the edges of silver and she's one of the few angels that use make-up. She has sky blue eyes and she's the angel of depression. She was born in the element of water. Another lonely angel with no friends. I miss her. I think she's in England too, but I don't know where. I pressed the lift button and stepped in it. I pressed the top number which was 20. Of course the richest man in our school lives in the best flat. I sighed again. The lift door opened on the highest floor and I stepped in a flat. It was crowded with drunk people in different costumes. I saw half naked angels and devils, bunnies and fairies. I looked around to see where I can hide for the rest of the night. The need wasn't as big as I have expected. People were too drunk to think about love. When I stepped on the dance floor everybody looked at me. Maybe my wings were too realistic. There's only one angel law. No one and I mean no one can touch an angels wings. If we lose our wings, we die. The only thing that can kill us. Even if we get in a fight or someone hurts us, we still have healers to mend our broken bones and wounds. I took another look across the room and noticed a closed door. I bet I could hide in there. That's when someone whispered in my ear. "I thought you're not going to come." Christopher said. His voice sent shivers down my spine. I couldn't answer. He was too close. I shrunk my wings as far as I could for him not to notice and not to touch them. I felt endangered. Too close, too close, I thought. I was breathing heavily. I took a step away from him and turned around to face him. In these high heels I was as tall as him. Otherwise I was a few centimetres shorter. He had a weird expression on his face. I didn't know what was he thinking or feeling. I guess no other girl said no to him. He took my hand and said in a seductive voice:"Let's go dance.". But he didn't pull me towards the dance floor. He pulled me towards the closed room. "W-Where are we going?" I asked while walking. "To my room. It's too crowded here." he said as if it's the most obvious thing in the all known universe. He opened the door and motioned me to go in first while saying: "Madame." I stepped inside. I wasn't comfortable. I didn't want to be alone with him. He got in the room himself and closed the door behind him. I stood there, not knowing what to do. He went on all fours and looked under his bed. I watched him and only now noticed his costume. He looked like a zombie to me but I could be wrong since I don't know humans that much. We had human studies in angel school but what help has that with a teenager? Christopher pulled something from under his bed. He turned on the lights and showed me a little kitten. It was so beautiful I went soft in a second. "This is Smile." Christopher said victoriously. He held it out and I took it. "It's so cute." I said quietly. "Thanks." he smiled. I stroked the little kitten and I could feel Christopher watching me. I let Smile go on her or his own. I don't know the gender. Christopher put on some slow music. He took my hand and made me dance. We slow danced to the music and it was okay until the unforgivable happened. I'm sure it was an accident but still, it was unforgivable. As he pulled me closer he touched the very beginning of my wings. Trying to protect myself from death, I opened them as far as I could. Christopher looked shocked, looking from me to my wings. "How did you... Did you.... Huh?" he managed to say. I closed my wings and ran out of the room, out of the flat, out of the building. As soon as I was safe, I rose up in the air.
