~Addilyn~
'It can't be him' I told myself, but it didn't make any sense, he had the same black hair and concerned blue eyes as he did in my dream. No. No, the only place I ever saw this man and will ever see him was in my dream and only in my dream. So logically this man could not be real, and it was simply my mind playing tricks on me. I took a deep breath, this was weirder beyond any means; first the crazy reoccurring dreams of war and then the creepy visions of... hunters? These are things people only saw in their nightmares or horror movies, but now I'm seeing them in my daily life. I honestly didn't think my life could get any scarier, but boy was I wrong.
I decided to close my eyes since I knew that when I opened them the man, more like hunter would disappear. Well, I was right, when I opened my eyes the man was gone, but the school's bad boy stood in front of me instead.
My frowned deepened, " What do you want Finnegan?"
He swiftly pushed me against my locker with almost inhuman speed and leaned down so that his mouth was basically touching my ear. I closed my eyes as I felt his breath lightly blow against my hair. He whispered "It starts tonight," into my ear and with that he was gone. I opened my eyes to see where he went, but it was almost as if he vanished into thin air. Finnegan and I had some history, but that was a story for another day and another time.
I for one was scared, it was extremely weird for Finnegan to confront me, let alone even talk to me, so something terrible must be starting up and I'm probably in the middle of it. This was all too much for me to take in, why was everything changing on me now? Why me out of all the in the world? At this point I just wanted to go home, and that said a lot considering what they do to me there; I shuddered just thinking about the pain they put me through. Since I only had one more class left, I decided to suck it up and stay in school; besides any place is better than my home, despite what the people in this school believe. I quickly grabbed the books from my locker and made my way towards my next class.
Mythology class here I come.
----
156, there are officially 156 tiles in this classroom. Although mythology was my favorite class, I really couldn't concentrate on the lesson today; I tried, but my mind would drift and I would start thinking about what Finnegan said. "It starts tonight." I was still trying to figure out what he meant by that. 'What does that even mean?' I asked myself. I was so lost in thought, trying to grasp everything that happen today, that I didn't hear the dismissal bell ring, signaling that I could finally leave the classroom.
"Addilyn, you may leave the classroom now." My teacher's stern, and slightly annoyed voice ripped me away from deep thoughts.
I quickly apologized and gathered my supplies, so I could leave this horrid place as quickly as possible. Before I left the classroom I took a deep breath, plastering my usual fake smile on my face. I waved to all my friends and fellow peers as I walked through the narrow halls of my high school. You see here at Willow-wood High School I was considered to be what most people called the 'it' girl; everybody here knew who I was and wanted to be my friend... I hated it, I hated how everyone assumed that I had the perfect life just because my parents were rich. I hated how my five year old little sister received all the love from parents. I hated how nobody noticed that I always wore long sleeves and pants to cover the bruises, but what I hated the most was how my "friends" use me to get to my family's money.
I put all of that pain and emotion behind me the second I stumbled outside of the school. I took a couple of deep breaths while I felt the wind blow against my body, making my hair blow out of my face and thought, 'If this is what freedom felt like, then I want it more than anything.'

The gods made King Lycaeon into a werewolf after he tried to serve them human flesh, so they changed him into a...
I was so mesmerized by the mythology book that I didn't notice my father was standing in front of me until I felt a harsh slap against my pale face. I yelled more out of shock than pain.
"What took you so long to come back from school?" He smirked at me as he watched the right side of face flare up.
I didn't exactly know how to respond; they didn't usually care what time I came home, so I really didn't know how to approach the... situation.
I at least managed to stutter out something out; anything is better than nothing. "I, w-well I um I w-as at school."
I guess that wasn't the answer he was looking for, since he dragged me by hair all the way up to my room. It was so painful that I wasn't able to hold back my screams of pain like I usually did. When we finally reached my room he threw me on the wooden ground and locked my bedroom door, but not before shouting, "I'll let you come out when I think you're ready to listen!" I cringed when I heard the loud sound of my door slamming shut, efficiently locking me inside. I silently walked into my small bathroom and closed the door, quickly turning on the shower water before finally breaking down sobbing on the bathroom floor.
I couldn't help but wonder if I was destined to be this miserable lonely creature, and if I was, I was determined to change my destiny.
----
After I finished cleaning myself up from my mental break down, I sat down on my bed and started to draw what looked like... a mansion? Ever since the dreams and visions started a couple months ago, I have been able to draw these beautiful people and places of things I've never actually seen before. I was so captivated by my drawing that I didn't hear it run up the stairs. I didn't see them until they broke down my bedroom door and were staring at me with a bloodthirsty glint in their eyes.
My mom, my dad, and my little sister morphed into some monstrous creature, but I quickly got over the shock of that fact when my dad attempted to pounce on me. I quickly rolled over, barely dodging his attack and grabbed the metal baseball bat that I kept near my bed. I swung at his head repeatedly until he fell down by my feet. My little sister then started to circle around me; as soon as she charged I swung my bat hard at the front of her neck causing a sickening crunch to echo loudly across the room before she fell on the ground right next to my dad. I looked behind me to see my mom quickly shift back to human, trying to flee... I didn't let her.
All I saw was red as I swung my bat her again and again and again. I smiled, happy to finally dish out the pain she gave me throughout the fourteen years of my life. I was breathing heavily as I looked down to see my mom covered in blood, her head bent in and her back destroyed. I stopped when I realized what I was doing and what I did. I slowly looked around to see each member of my family dead on the ground of my room and I realized that I was the one who killed them out of cold blood.
'It was out of self defense.' I told myself.
It was out of self defense.
It was out of self defense
'IT WAS OUT OF ANGER!' The voice in my head said.
They were going to kill me.
YOUR MOTHER DIDN'T ATTACK AND YOU KEPT SWINGING AND SWINGING UNTIL SHE DROPPED DEAD!
...I always thought that they were the monsters, but I now realized that it was me.I was the monster.
I looked down and saw that I was soaked in my dad's blood, I was soaked in little Rosie's blood, and I was soaked in my mother's blood.
I dropped the bat that dripped with their blood, the blood that I spilled and looked at my floor, watching the blood soak into the wood. I looked at my parents and sister covered in goosing cuts and blood. I almost puked just looking at the scene.I killed them.
I killed my family.I walked over to my bedroom window and punched it repeatedly as a wave of anger flowed through me.
I'm the monster!
Punch.
I'm the monster!
Punch!
I'M THE MONSTER!As I saw the different shards of glass sticking out of my hands, I started to cry and scream out in grief. My vision started to blur and sounds faded in and out. Darkness started to take me, but not before I saw Finnegan come through the door and lift me up, cradling me like I was a baby.
That was before I saw the police barge into my house as Finnegan and I left.
That was before I saw us travel through some portal.
The last thing I heard before I lost consciousness was, "I'll keep you safe Addi. I swear I will protect you this time." And then everything went black.

Well, this is my first story so I hope you enjoyed the first chapter. I own all the characters and the plot so yeah... Also if any of you got confused when she was talking about the self defense thing, she was having a battle inside herself. I don't mind if you have any advice to give me, since I'm still fairly new to wattpad and could use all the help I can get.
If you think this was a good chapter, press the vote button.
Don't forget to comment☺️
