Color

Visions that I can't let go. Haunting me. Tearing at me.
Turning me. Waking me. About face.
I see me, but not me. That face staring back at me from the mirror place.
Who is that mocking me?
Laughing, telling me lies that dwell deep inside.
And then I see the color. The color of her eyes suspended in a world of gray.
It calls to me, pulls me, takes me.
With love and caring it keeps me safe. Safe from myself.
The purest color tears me from the darkest corners and takes hold.
Color reaches me and makes me bold, stronger than I could be on my own.
The color whispers in my ear.
Tells me secrets.
Tells me truths.
The words bring color in to my heart, in to my soul and for one more day it saves me.
From myself.
From the darkness.
From the cold.
