There was only two things that I could feel at that moment; pain and emptiness.

How it was possible to feel two emotions so different yet at the same time so effective I am still not sure. It was as if everything inside of my had been taken away, leaving me as an air filled balloon of skin, yet all over the edges of my skin was a sharp pain, like a million needles were being prodded inside of me. I was too afraid to open my eyes, afraid that if I did I really would find that the feeling was true and there was needles sticking out from all sides of me.

Though I guess that shouldn’t have been my biggest fear. It seemed that I was constantly being stabbed with needles at the Asylum For Young Crazies.

Oh, that was juts great. Now not only did I hear strange voices and see a mysterious man inside of my head, but I also had begun to pick up his way of talk and was using his exact words.

For a moment, my whole mind went blank. It was a never-ending darkness as I struggled to remember, to juts remember anything about where I was. At first I believed that I was at the Asylum For Young Crazies (I had decided to just give in and call it that instead of it’s actual name) maybe just asleep. But the ground was too hard, even for the run down old beds that we were given.

There was a loud screech, worse than any car crash that you could ever imagine. I felt my pinpricked skin crawl. There was a whipping wind that rushed over me, starting at my feet and rushing towards my head, nipping at my skin.

“ My, my, what a cute young kitten “ chimed a voice. It was a lovely females voice, they type that you would stop to listen to. It echoed al around me, as if I were in a large room, though I was unable to tell if I really was with my eyes closed. Maybe I should open them ? The thought passed me again. It couldn’t too bad if I did, yet there was something stopping me. An indescribable force that had it’s fingers gently holding my eyelids down.

Another crash, though this one was lighter in sound. A smooth wind glided only above me this time, not even ruffling my hair up in the least bit. “ Yes, Gus the Reaper has told me much about her. It’s nice to finally meet her “ said a male’s voice. It had a sort of edge to it, a dangerous one, yet civilized voice.

After I got past his actual tone of voice my brain realized what his voice had actually said. I flinched, my first movement in awhile. I held my breath, waiting for him to go on with anymore details about Gus. I really was crazy. Now I was making up an entire world for myself, filled with cold winds and crackling noises, and strange voices that I had such trouble trying to explain.

“ Well it took her long enough “ said the female voice, an irritable edge in her tone. What did she mean by that ? Had it taken me too long to become crazy ? Oh, sorry, I apologize. Next time I’ll try to lose my sanity quicker just for you.

The male chuckled. “ But that’s what is interesting about her, though eventually she had to give in to the invitation “ he said. She heard the female let out an unamused sigh. “ Yes, well, he lying like this isn’t going to do us any good. She’s been here for three days, for God’s sake “ she muttered.

“ Yes, well, you can’t just wake her. You have to wait until thee world believes that it’s the right time for her to wake up “ the male replied, sighing in a disappointed manner. I cringed. What would happen if I opened my eyes ? My eyes suddenly felt dry and I would have given anything to be able to blink them without being seen by either two.

“ What happens if we don’t wait and force her up now ? “ the female said, and I detected an inkling of bother curiosity and amusement in her voice.

“ Don’t even think about it, Naima. She’d be lost to both Xavier and the Celestial World forever and would be stuck to continue to wander Earth. I’ve seen it many times before with my father “ he said.

I felt something in the air move, then a strange presence above me. A face, someone’s face. I don’t know how I knew this just from the sudden rush in the wind, but I did and I was positive that I was right. Slowly, I opened my eyes. I stared up at a girl. She had a bright red hair that had a stunning purple bangs and deep green eyes. She blinked a few times as I did. “ Shoot “ she said, and before I knew it, she had disappeared in the same car crash of a noise that I had heard before, followed by the slightly more controlled and quieter crack of noise.

I swear I felt my ear buds pop. I sat up abruptly, my head practically spinning around to try and find the mysterious girl Naima and the male who’s name I still did not know.

Slowly, I stood, though looking around keenly at what surrounded me, unsure where to begin. I had been listening so keenly to the two I had almost forgotten to why I was even here. It hit me hard, a hard mental blow that made me gasp. It was starting to make sense.

I was dead.

I felt a single tear form in my eye, sliding down my cheek and falling to the dark ground. I heard a splash, like water hitting water and I looked down. A startled hasp escaped my lips as I realized that I was standing in an ocean of tears that seemed to stretch for miles upon miles. The water was and came up to my ankles.

I burst into a run, my legs taking me as far as I could, splashing through the torrents of water, rippling now, as if my sudden burst had angered it. Waves formed, nearly knocking me over more than once. The water was becoming higher. I was now up to my knees, making it even harder to run.

That’s when I saw it; the beautiful, stunning light that had always been known for taking one to a paradise of death. I smiled, tears streaming down my face. So I really was dead. The reality of it all was horrible, the was I died, unsure of how I actually turned up dead, not so sure that they would find my head feet from my body, a man with a scythe standing nearby with and evil grin before disappearing into the shadows as he had always done before when his work was done.

I reached out towards the light. Yes, please, take me. Accept me into your brilliance so that I may finally end this horrible existence, I begged silently in my head, reaching as far as I could while I ran as fast as I could in the now mid-thigh waters. My fingers were just inches away from the light. Yes, I was almost there.

Stop.

Without thinking logically, I redrew my hand. What was I doing ? I stopped for a moment, trying to think of where I had heard that voice before. And even before I could think to reach my hand out again and into the light, a massive wave swooped in, knocking me off my feet and into the watery depths.

Strangely enough, I could still breath. I guess breathing is only essential on Earth and not when you’re dead. Well, that was quite convenient because if I had been unable to breath I surely would have drowned. Though even so, I couldn’t see a thing. It was dark, an inky black liquid, that being the only way I could explain it. It was icy cold, and I could feel goose bumps covering my whole body.

My eyes scanned the waters for something, anything that would point out to where to exit the freezing torrents of water. From the corner of my eyes I saw it, it was a light, just like the one I saw before, except this one shimmered all colors of the rainbow. As I swam closer to it I felt a strange change in temperature. The water seemed warmer somehow. It seemed the closer and closer that I swam towards the light the warmer the temperature became. It was nice, comforting. I smiled, falling into a trance. I was right up to the light. I floated before it, staring, mesmerized.

I felt two hands on my back and without a second thought I was thrown into the light and was falling into a world of colors.
