The festival lights shimmered across Primara like fallen stars, weaving gold and silver through the streets as music echoed between stone buildings and dragon perches alike. Laughter rose into the night sky, blending with the occasional roar of dragons overhead. For the first time in what felt like forever, the Nation breathed freely. Starfania and Aeron returned from their quiet moment just in time to see Violet darting toward them through the crowd.

" There you are!" Violet exclaimed.

Before she could say anything else, Aeron grinned mischievously and scooped her into his arms. Violet let out an indignant squeak.

" Big brother!" She protested, though her laughter betrayed her immediately.

" You're tiny enough to carry," Aeron teased, effortlessly balancing her on his shoulder. " Besides, someone has to keep you from eating every sweet at this festival."

" That is slander," Violet declared dramatically. Starfania laughed softly beside them, the sound lighter than it had been in weeks. Watching them together filled her chest with warmth. For a moment, there were no kingdoms or nations, no poison, no destiny hanging over her shoulders. Just this. Just them.

The trio wandered through the festival together, stopping at colorful game stalls and cheering whenever someone won a prize. Violet beat Aeron at a ring toss game, something she absolutely refused to let him forget.

" You lost to a child," Violet said proudly while holding her prize dragon plush.

" A very suspicious child," Aeron muttered. " I demand a rematch."

Starfania smirked. " Sounds like someone's ego got bruised."

" My ego is perfectly intact, thank you."

" Oh, absolutely shattered," she replied. Their laughter carried through the crowd as they continued deeper into the celebration. Soon, drums thundered through the plaza.

People gathered around the center stage where performers dressed in flowing silks and glowing dragon masks began the Dragon Dance. Massive ribbons of crimson, gold, and silver swirled through the air, mimicking dragons soaring across the sky. Flames burst harmlessly from enchanted lanterns while musicians played ancient melodies that resonated deep in the soul. Starfania stood still as she watched the performance. The dragons weren't feared here. They were loved. Celebrated. Protected. Atlas landed nearby with a graceful sweep of his white-streaked wings, drawing awed gasps from nearby children.

Drogo followed immediately after, though unlike Atlas, he landed with far more unnecessary flair. Drogo skidded dramatically across the ground before flaring his wings wide. Atlas stared at him. Long and hard.

" You absolutely did not need to do all that," Starfania muttered. Drogo responded with a proud rumbling noise. Atlas immediately snapped back at him with an annoyed growl. Drogo lightly smacked Atlas with his tail. Atlas looked offended beyond belief. The entire group burst into laughter. Even nearby festival-goers stopped to watch the dragons bicker like siblings. Starfania crossed her arms with a grin. " That is definitely Aeron and Violet."

" What?!" Aeron and Violet exclaimed in perfect unison.

" We are nothing like them," Aeron argued. Violet pointed accusingly. " You're literally Drogo in this situation."

" I am absolutely not."

" You absolutely are."

Atlas made another disapproving noise at Drogo, who responded by dramatically puffing smoke into the air. The crowd around them laughed even harder. Soon even Aeron gave up trying to defend himself, shaking his head as he laughed alongside everyone else. Starfania looked around at all of them—the dragons, the lights, the music, her friends. Atlas gently lowered his head beside her shoulder. And for the first time since leaving VulcanFire...Starfania truly smiled without fear. Above them, the stars stretched endlessly across Avalon. Watching, waiting. And somewhere far beyond the celebration, destiny still lingered. But tonight? Tonight, they were allowed peace.
