Evelyn's POV

I made my choice. It may be bad for me, but I was ready to take the risk. Nadia wasn't so sure but told me that if I ever had any problem, I could ask for her help. She couldn't believe what Alexander told me. For a couple of minutes, she was looking at me like I had grown a second head. Her eyes were wide and her mouth hung open. When everything registered in her mind, she yelled.

''He did what?''

I had to cover my ears and I really wondered why the windows hadn't broken. All the customers of the café turned to us. It was so embarrassing. But because of that conversation with Nadia, I took the reassurance I needed. That someone will be at my side at the difficult time that is to follow. All night long I thought about Alexander's proposition and I came to one conclusion after thinking both the advantages and disadvantages of each of my answers.

I dressed up and left my house with my car. I arrived at the company 30 minutes later and parked the car. First, I went to the person who is responsible for the employees here. Later, I went to Alexander's office and knocked on the door.

''Come in.'' Alexander said.

I swear to God every time I see Alexander my heart stops beating and my breath is being taken away. Here he was sitting at his desk working wearing a black suit. He had removed the jacket and had rolled up the sleeves of his black shirt. He had opened some buttons of his shirt giving him a sexier and hotter image. I think black is his color.

''I accept your proposal.'' I said.

When I said it, I realized that most probably I'll regret it very soon.

''What proposal?'' Alexander asked lifting his head to see me.

''About the marriage. It's the best for the baby.''

''Alright, then. We are getting married.''

''I agree but on my terms.'' I said.

I saw him giving me a look that said you must be kidding me and trying to read me. But he couldn't. I have learned over the years to mask my face from emotions. Unless he can see through my eyes, he can't understand me.

''Terms? What terms? That wasn't in the deal.'' Alexander said.

Did he just call our wedding a deal? So, he wants a deal? I will give him one, then.

''There will be terms or else this wedding is off. What do you say?'' I asked.

''Are you blackmailing me, Evelyn?'' Alexander asked amused.

''No, I am just merely protecting myself and my baby. So, yes or  no?''

''It's our baby and yes. Tell me your conditions.''

''First, I want to meet your parents. Secondly, the wedding will take place in 3 weeks with a few friends of ours and our families. You can choose the place. Thirdly, I will choose my maid of honor and if you two don't get along, you won't tell me to choose another one. Fourthly, if something happens to me, you'll take care of our baby without neglecting it. Fifthly, you will never put work above our family. Sixthly, if you cheat on me, we're getting a divorce and I leave with the child from Boston. Lastly, if we get divorced, the baby stays with me and the media won't learn a thing about me. I won't demand money from you for the baby. You can come and see our child. I won't forbid you from spending time with him or her. Do you have any questions?''

Alexander was staring at me as if I said something without sense. For some time he was looking me with those beautiful piercing blue eyes making me stay still.
