Things have a tendency to start off rather slow. The sluggish lukewarm beginnings had been annoying at first, but time eventually washed away most of the impatience. Now, its easy to recognize the importance of the steady buildup, to appreciate the genesis of the event, and to enjoy the way things eventually intensify. A cool start to keep things from getting too rushed, to ensure that theres enough enjoyment to go around at the end.
All it takes is one touch of the hand in just the right way to turn up the heat. A rush of warmth that makes it all go a bit faster and creates energy that suddenly infuses a previously languid occurence with a bit of urgency. Here, it can be difficult not to get too eager. Picking up the pace too much might get one a little... excited. Doing things slowly is always so much more satisfying at end. So it all slowly goes from warm to hot. Simmering but not yet boiling. It brings one right to the edge but not quite over it. A place thats both thrilling and torturous to be in. A little frustrating but not discouragingly so. Its the perfect in-between, an amazing place that makes one want to linger, so naturally we don't stay there for long.
Almost too soon, things go by in a rush. Heat that once warmed and excited now scorches and burns, lighting a fire that destroys as it rejuvenates. All control is lost and all pretences are thrown to the wind. Heat bursts forth from the depths, brings waves of hot air to the surface and the water finally begins to boil.
