Chapter - 19

The next day it was time for the mehendi and sangeet function, which was to be held at manik’s place. As the day began manik saw everyone running here & there in the entire house for the preparations. All were doing one thing or the other. The programs was going to start at 1 pm. It was 11 am when manik msged fab5:
“Emergency!!! Come to my room right now..”
The very next minute everyone entered his room & found him comfortably sitting there on his bed.
Cabir: what is this manik??? u scared us…
Aliya: What happened??
Manik: nothing I just wanted to thank u all for everything u r doing for me…. Thank u guys, thank u very much…
Mukti: Manik…. We r just returning what u did with us. Nothing else manik got up from the bed & they all had a nice group hug, just then aliya broke the hug & said,
Aliya: now u all get ready fast. Mukti n I m going to nandini… we all will be here around 1pm.
Cabir: ohk…
Soon everyone got ready…. Aliya had kept the theme as green and white, so everyone got ready accordingly. It was exactly 1:10, when nandini entered manik’s house and manik’s face got a broad smile. She was wearing a lenhenga, with green choli & white blouse with green design, along with that she carried a matching chunni. As manik saw her, he wasn’t able to get his eyes off her. She was looking very beautiful and same was with the other girls. Just then Manik saw Kavya, standing next to nandini. She too was wearing a green lehenga & was looking damn cute…. Manik went closer to the girls with the other boys & said,
Manik: u all look fabulous….. but there is only one who is looking just out of the world….
He smiled & slowly walked closer to nandini. She saw him & blushed hard. And suddenly he picked up kavya in his arms.
Manik: and that one is my cute baby doll.
Cabir: seriously my angel is looking so preety.
Kavya kissed Manik’s cheeks & said, “Thank u chachu…..”
Soon the program began with Amms applying a little mehndi on nandini’s hand, followed by the perfectionist Mehndi started. Mukti suddenly started singing a song,
Mukti: Mehndi hai rachne walli
haathon pe gehri laali….
Aliya: kahe sakhiya… kuch kaliyaan…
haathon pe khilne wali hai
Navya: tere mann koo…Geewan ko..
Nayi khushiyaan milne wali hai…
With this the three girls presented a nice dance performance which they had already prepared earlier. As they finished it was time for kavya’s performance. No one knew about it accept Navya & Cabir. Navya took Kavya to the stage & Cabir switched off all the lights, getting the spot light on kavya, she danced as the song began.
Radha on the dance floor,
radha likes to party,
Radha on the moves now
Desi Radha Party…….
And all the ppl bursted with excitement…… As she finished her dance, manik got a chance & somehow took nandini away from the crowd into a room.
Nandini: manik….. what r u doing??
Manik: what can I do, u only tell how will I control myself when u will keep on looking more n more stunning day by day.
Nandini: manik!!
Nandini turned n started walking back when manik suddenly moved his hands to her waist n pulled her towards himself. Nandini’s back collided with him as he said,
Manik: nandini its our marriage… I don’t think any one will have a problem in us being together….
Nandini: manik see my mehndi is not yet finished….. And I really wish for a very nice one for myself, so plz let me go n get it finished.
Manik: I can also do it for u…… I can also make this mehndi of urs..
Nandini: ohh really….
Manik: off course…. U wanna see.???
Nandini: no no I don’t want u to destroy mine…. u go n try it with some1 else…
Manik: so u want me to go n try ‘it’ with some1 else..
Nandini: shut up manik…!!
Just then navya came searching for nandini.... Manik left her n let her go out. Then Amms asked aliya, mukti & navya too, to apply mehndi with nandini. They all sat down n the rest of the performances were as follows:
1) Chacha & chachi
2) Rishab & Abhi
3) By the 3 boys of fab5
As the boys finished with their performance, nandini smiled looking towards manik and sang…

All the faces suddenly turned towards her. Fab5, and nandini’s family and albert were shocked to see that nandini was singing was by herself….

Nandini kept on looking at manik and continued, while he saw her with eyes full of love. He had always loved to see her sing & now seeing her this way after so many years he was so happy, that he just wanted to rush towards her and hug her.

Amms was very happy seeing nandini sing so happily. She had tears flowly down her cheeks. Manik noticed her crying.

As nandini’s song ended Amms came & hugged her tightly. She called manik who was standing a little away & kissed his forehead saying,
Amms: this is the bestest gift u can ever give me…. Thank u very much manik…. now I know why I couldn’t make her sing in all these years, it was only because her inspiration to sing lies within u…
Manik touched her feet & said,
Manik: its not the time to cry, its time to celebrate.
All the guests got on the dance floor & navya took Amms along with her. Manik turned towards nandini & said,
Manik: thank u… thank u 4 giving me my old nandini back…
Manik kissed her forehead & just then nandini’s mehndi artist asked her, “What name is to be written of the to be husband…”
Nandini smiled at manik & said, “MONSTER….”
“What monster????”the girl asked.
Manik & nandini laughed out load, listening to her reaction. Aliya heard their voice & went near them.
Aliya: what happened???
She saw the mehndi artist stare at them, & then she said “madam, I asked the name of the groom to be written & she replied ‘MONSTER’….. should I actually write that???”
Aliya too joined their laughter n then said
Aliya: no no…. they r just kidding…. U write manik…
She agreed & was about to write it when manik said “stop…”. Aliya turned towards him when he said…
Manik: I wanna write that myself…
Nandini smiled at him & took her hand forward towards him. Manik took up a mehndi cone & wrote his name on her hand. After that he took the cone &turned towards aliya & said
Manik: can u plz do the honours…. I want her name on my hand…
Aliya: manik is for the bride, not 4 the groom.
Manik: so what??? I want it…
Aliya: ohk… but sorry I can’t help u….( showing her hands filled with mehndi)
Manik called Cabir, who did his work very nicely.
