I look at the clock. It reads 2:51 A.M.
Another sleepless night because I can't stop thinking of her. Her smile, her laugh, her voice, the way her forehead crinkles when she talks. Lindsey. She's perfect. I think I love her. We barely ever talk. Her life is just too busy. She's a waitress at the local restaurant. I work at the bowling alley, cleanup duty. My favorite. But I don't mind cooking the food there. Its funny to see how many of my old middle school teachers come here on the Friday nights because they get totally trashed. One of my favorite teachers, Mrs Harmon got so wasted she puked all over my least favorite teacher Ms. Anderson. It was great. Of course I had to clean it up but I was totally worth it considering everybody was laughing at her as she stormed out to her car.
I can't sleep so I go downstairs to the hot tub. Nobody is awake so hell, I'm going in naked. I like the bubbles, the warmth. I look at the stars and think how far away they are and some of them are so unknown. Sometimes that's how I feel, unknown and like nobody understands me.
I stay in for about a half hour until my fingers and toes start to prune up. Then I get out and put some pizza rolls in the toaster oven.
I rush over to the toaster oven before it dings and everyone hears it and wakes up. Made it just in time. 7 seconds left on the timer. I make some tea and load it up with sugar, then sneak back up the stairs and turn on the TV.
My favorite show is on. Cat Ninja Warriors. These cats have a way with power.
I look at the clock. This time it reads 3:46 A.M. Gotta be up a 8 for work. Its stupid that I have to be there this early because who really goes bowling Saturday morning? I will tell you, nobody. There is never anyone there. But I guess that's good for me, I don't have to do anything and I still get paid. No cleaning up puke, scraping gum off of under the tables, no cooking food. Go me!
I turn off the TV, chug the rest of my lukewarm tea and close my eyes.
