Words Will Always Hurt Me

Sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will always hurt me. No matter what you say, your comment will remain locked inside my mind, pounding and pounding against it, convincing it that your comment is true. We can fight it, ignore it, and just continue on with our lives, but it's impossible. In the end, your comment will win the battle, and from there on the pain will start. Each day, the comment will be fired back like a horrible insult no one wants to hear. And each day I will believe your comment, making it my morning prayer. So, when they say, stick and stones may break your bones, words will never hurt me, they're wrong. Words will always me.
