XXXVIII: Dawn of Thunder

Shard woke up some time later in a bed on the airship. He felt heavier and looked at his body. It looks like he was banged up pretty badly, his midsection bandaged a lot, as well as his arms. He had a bandage on his cheek too. However, he felt something warm on his cheek.

He moved his eyes over to see Sky, asleep next to him. Shard's face beamed bright red as he tried to wonder what was going on. He looked at her closely and saw that she had bandages on her legs and her arm.

What is she doing here, snuggling up on me? Not that it's a bad thing... Shard thought. Suddenly, Thunder roared and lightning flashed a distance away. Sky shivered a bit. Is she afraid of lightning?

Sky woke up and looked at Shard, who was trying to go back to sleep. She looked out the window at the gray and orange clouds. It was around 4 in the morning. If it wasn't for the thunder and lightning, she would say that it looks absolutely amazing outside.

Shard yawned like a kitten and slowly tried to stay awake now that Sky was. They looked at each other for a little while, because there was nothing to say. It was true they liked each other, but they didn't truly know if the other liked them back. Suddenly, Sky spoke softly.

"Shard....thanks...for everything." She said.

"Heh," Shard replied. "I can say the same thing." These words meant nothing to them, just a way to fill the silence. Suddenly it happened. A kiss.

However, they up to this point have never truly kissed. The thunder roared in the back, sounding like pure nothingness to the two. And then, it was over. They looked at each other once more, and smiled. The rain soon stopped and the two eventually went to sleep, mumbling "I love you" to each other. They were holding hands.

A few hours later.....

"GET YOUR DUMBASSES UP!!!!! IT'S TIME FOR BREAKFAST!!!!!!!" Pierce yelled in the hallway. Shard woke up and rubbed his eyes while his tail stretched out. Dammit, Pier- wait.... Shard looked at Sky asleep next to him. CRAP CRAP CRAP KILL ME RIGHT NOW was running though his mind.

The door opened and Pierce and Leah walked in. "Shard I said get your ass up-" Pierce stopped and saw Sky in the bed with Shard. She blushed and then filled with rage. "I know you should be a couple..." She clenched her fists. "But this is taking it way too far!" She walked over to the now panicking Shard. "YOU PERVERT!!!!!!!!"

Her punch was so powerful that it ignited the elements in the air, causing an explosion and slamming Shard through the airship's windows and out into the wild blue yonder.

"I JUST WANTED BREAKFAAASSSST!!!!" Shard yelled as he fell like a meteor to the ground.

Pierce sighed and cracked her knuckles. "I don't accept pervyness."

"I'm pretty sure that their extreme injuries would have prevented anything anyway. Plus, they're both fully clothed." Leah said. "I think you overreacted, Pierce." Leah giggled.

"Oh........ooh..." Pierce walked to the balcony and shouted "SORRY" into the clouds.

"Huh? What happened?" Sky said.

"Oh nothing, just a regular morning." Leah said.

"Oh....kay...."
