Chapter 1

"Quinn hurry up were going to be late again!" My mother yelled through my door.

"Ok geez I'm done" I say walking out of my room.

The thing about my mother is that she hates being late and it can be quite annoying sometimes. My mom is literally a walking alarm clock.

We were on our way to a small get together at her friends house, Well my mom said it was small but I know better. It's most likely a huge party.

I mean I don't mind going. They usually end up being fun. The only part that I don't like is that all of my mom's friends are really into gossip so every time they see me they want to know what is going on in my life. Also the fact that I have missed the last few "small gatherings" because of work they are going want to know exactly what is going on in my life. Hopefully the fact that my sister is going will take the attention from me. My sister is worse that me it's been almost a year since she moved out and she stop coming to the gatherings all together. Now that she moved back in my mom is making her come.

"When we get there I want all of you on your best behavior. Do I make my self clear" my mother turns to look at us with a stern face.

"Yes mom we know the drill." My brother Benjamin replies

"I don't see why I had to come it's not like I talk to anyone there." My sister Lynn says

"Because Yvette invited the whole family that's why and plus she has been dying to see you" my mom replies

The rest of the car ride was silent except for my Twenty One Pilots cd playing quietly through the speakers of the car.

"Amy glad you could make it, come in"

"Thank you Yvette" my mother replies

" Oh Lynn I'm glad you could come I haven't seen you in such a long time" Yvette tell my sister.

"Yea I know sorry about that I just been busy with school and work." My sister explains

"I get it Jace has been the exact same although he doesn't work but school has taken most of his time away." Yvette say and my sister replies with a nod

" Quinn, Benjamin good to see you guys too, oh and Ella is here already if you want to head to the living room" Yvette say towards me.

"Thanks" I reply with a smile and head to the living room.

"SAM!!" My best friend Ella yells from where she is sitting on the couch.

"Geez Ella I'm right here no need to yell" I laugh.

"I know I'm just so excited to see you I feel like it's been weeks since we talked" Ella replies sadly

" I know I'm sorry but work has taken a lot of my time lately but I promise that from now on I'll have more time to hang out " I say with a smile.

"Mhm I heard that one before" Ella roles her eyes

"Hey! I'm not the one that has been traveling with my family this past month" I reply getting a little irratated that she wants to push all the blame to me. Ella and her family have been traveling to different states this whole month so I couldn't exactly call her up to hang out.

"Okay I get it's my fault as well" Ella says

"Glad we could agree, so do you know who else is going to come?" I ask

" I think the usual people are coming oh and I heard that all of jace's friends are going to be here." Ella says with a smirk

"Ugh I knew I should have just stayed home today" I say
