ELIZABETH'S POV
'Beep, beep, beep," goes my pink crown-shaped alarm clock. My dad bought it for me because once when we were walking through a store, I set my eyes on it and instantly fell in love with it. The good ol' days back when I was thirteen. I click snooze, finally shutting it up.
I roll back over, but then I remember something. Shoot it. I have to go on the disgusting, filthy city bus for the first time. Ever. Today. This is happening today. As I open my eyes and climb out of bed, I trip over a heel lying across the floor. Oh great. As if this day wasn't going to be horrible anyways. Yeah, so, I forgot to put my five-inch hot pink heels away after the party last night. Justin and I organized a surprise party for my best friend's, Emily, sixteenth birthday.
She is only two months, a week, and five days older than me. She is tall at 5"5 making me feel short being only 5"2. She has long, gorgeous auburn hair making my shoulder-length blonde hair dull. The only thing we have in common are our eyes. We both have big blue eyes. I can't blame Justin for liking her. Please don't tell him I know. He'll kill me. Or maybe die of embarrassment. He didn't tell me. Obviously. But it's just so obvious by the way he looks at her.
Speaking of Justin, wasn't j meant to wake him?
I run out the room door and towards his room at the end of the hall. I open it a crack, peeking my head through. I see Justin lying there. I swear he looks like an angel while he sleeps. That is until he wakes up. Just kidding, I love him. I stroll over to the side of his bed, trying to hold in my childish giggles.
Tapping his shoulder, I say,
"Justin, Justin, you have to get up."
He groans pulling his pillow over his head.
"We have to catch the bus."
"Ugh."
"How bout trying to say good morning?"
"Morning."
He mumbles as he slides out of bed.
"Quick, get dressed, I'll see you down in ten."
I leave his room to give him some privacy. I head down the stairs to eat the breakfast Beatrice, our cook, prepared for us before leaving for her day off. I take a plate and fill it with pancakes, pouring syrup all over them. Yum! I love syrup. I fill myself up a glass of orange juice. Seat myself at the table with the latest issue of Vogue. It's shocking that I'm not fat after eating all the food Beatrice prepares for us every day. As I finish eating, Justin comes down, grabs some breakfast to go, and we head out to the bus stop. Justin and I were talking about last night's party on our way, when all the sudden he just paused and stared. I followed his stare, it lead me to where my best friend was standing. Oh. That explains it. Emily was standing at the bus stop, talking to Jacob Grither's girlfriend, Sarah. I nudged Justin and we continued to walk the rest of the way.
