I was only 5. My brother, John, was 16.

I clung to my mother in terror, as they dragged him away. He Whispered his last words to us as he struggled against their strong grip,"I will find you."
My brother, John ran in just in time to see their dark figures disappear into the night, and hear the black truck zoom quickly away.

"We have to leave," mother said to us, her voice weak and trembling, I could tell she was hiding something. I, being only five, followed her instructions without question. I was terrified from what had happened and asked my mother, "What if those terrible men come back?" "That's why we have to leave, so that they won't come back for us." She answered looking down at my scared little face. She walked over, Sat on the couch and then held out her arms for me to come to her. As she held me I could feel her warmth.
Very often when I was scared, my mom would hold me like this and it always made me feel better. It did make me feel safe, but this time I was worried about my daddy. I thought of his last words to us,"I will find you." "Mamma, is. Daddy going to ever come back?" I asked, looking up into her sad eyes. "Oh, I hope so." She replied just above a whisper. I watched as a tear slipped down her cheek. She quickly wiped it away, then stood and said,"Come on, we need to go as soon as possible."
"But mamma! How will he find us if he doesn't know where we are?" I asked her in my small voice. "No Lizzy..." John began in only a quiet whisper,"They'll come back for us if we don't leave." He finished, looking at the ground, then turning his head up and looking at me. "Who will come back for us? Who were they John?" I asked my brother, I was beginning to get annoyed, I knew so little and they were hiding so much it seemed. "Darling," my mother said in her soft, loving voice as she walked up to me. She knelt in front of me and gave me a big hug as she continued. "Daddy wants us to be safe, and we aren't safe here... but I know that no matter where we are, he won't stop until he finds us."

I began to cry as she hugged me, I knew that my dad did want me to be safe, but would I ever see him again? Would he find me?
