Just Give Me A Reason Pilot

*Ashlee's POV*

*FLASHBACK: 2004 IN NEW YORK CITY, NY HOSPITAL*

I held my brother's hand softly kneeling down next to the hospital bed where my mother laid. Her skin white as the snow falling outside. My brother, Cameron,  reached out for mother's hand."Mommy?," he asked in his four year old voice as he let out a tear. My twelve year old sister,Katy, pulled Cameron into her arms,"Come Cam, Ash needs some time alone with mommy ok?," she said as Cameron agreed walking into the hallway with dad. I looked at mom placing my hand in hers. Her eyes slowly opened from her slumber,"Mom?," I asked smiling."Oh Ashlee," she said as she wrapped her weak and skinny arms around me."Ashlee. I love you so much, and I want you to know that I will always take care of you. I love, love, love you so much," she said kissing my forehead."Take care of Cameron Ashlee," she said as the heart meter began to go crazy.

"Dad. DAD!," I screamed falling to the floor grabbing onto my mother's arm."MOM NO! PLEASE DON'T LEAVE ME! NO PLEASE!," I yelled crawling up to her as her eyes closed,"Take care," she said softly before the meter went blank."MOM NO!," I screamed as my dad ran into the room pulling me away from my mom,"NO! DADDY PLEASE! MOMMY," I said breaking into tears as my uncle Ryan grabbed me taking me out of the room.

After we all said our goodbyes, we had to go home after the long night. I sat next to Cam's car seat as he fell asleep. I was leaning on Katy's shoulder as she stroked my head."Just try to think about a  normal life," she said kissing my forehead. My dad turned to look at us,"She's in a better place Ashlee. We just have to move on. She would want you to." I sighed, thinking about how life was going to be without mom. No more 'Mommy's Hugs'. No more cookies that were made with her love. No more goodbye kisses before school. Now I would have to take the bus since dad had work.I bit my lip, holding back my tears. I knew that Katy was wrong. Life will never be normal nor the same. Ever.
