Prologue
Noong bata pa ako, I always believed in fairytales. Kung anuman yun, the prince sweeps the princess from her feet, or the brave knight saves the damsel in distress. Naniwala ako sa lahat ng iyon, inisip ko that one day, a prince will be there for me. That's what I always thought until I reached high school. I realized na hindi totoo ang lahat ng iyon at lahat ng pinaniwalaan ko ay fiction, inisip ko na hindi yun mangyayari in the real world...and it never did.
I never experienced love the way everyone did. Wala pa akong nakilalang lalaki na nandyan talaga para saakin, so I gave up. Fairytales taught me that beauty doesn't matter but what truly matters is the beauty of your heart. But from what I have experienced, lahat sila, ang gusto lang nila ay ang kagandahan ng isang babae. At pag hindi ka maganda sakanila, wala ka lang. Either they treat you as a friend or they treat you like you don't even exist.
Ngayong high schooler na ako, ngayong 17 na ako, I became more mature. I won't fall for their dirty tricks and lies ever again...but I was wrong. Isang lalaki, he stole my heart. Bago pa kami naging close, he already caught my eye. Kumbaga, love at first sight. Pfft, love at first sight, I know it's not real. I tried ignoring him and I kept on diminishing my feelings for him, pero mahal ko parin siya. Kaya I've accepted nalang na hindi talaga niya ako mamahalin, but I can't control my heart. Sabi ko sa sarili ko, iba siya sa mga ibang lalaki.
And I believe I was right.
