As soon as I slid down that hole it immediately got colder. I shivered as I picked up speed shooting down a tunnel to who knows where. After about two minutes of continuous sliding I finally saw the light. YASSSSS I thought to myself. A way out! As the light got closer and closer it got brighter and brighter. Then I shot out of the tunnel at about 10 mph and landed on a pile of moss on the forest floor. Wait a minute I thought. Since when was I in the forest?! Then I looked down. Damn it!! Ruined my new skirt! It was covered in oil and dirt. The shoot must have been covered in oil or else how could I have been going that fast. I decided that it would be best to head away from the tunnel so I didn't accidentally get lost or head back to the place that I had just escaped from. That would be unfortunate. So I started running. I used to run all the time because I thought I was fat. The truth was, I just had severe anxiety and for some reason running helped it. At the time I obviously didn't know that I had anxiety but it felt good to run so I did it all the time. Since I was in killer shape I made it out of the trees in 20 minutes. That's got to be my personal best, I thought mentally high diving myself.
"CELEBRATION TIME COME ON DUN DUN DUN DUN DUN DUN WHOAAAAA" I snapped my head towards the road as I watched a truck come around the bend. The old rusted truck rattled and shook but sped around that corner like a NASCAR!! Not even kidding. So I ran to the side of the road and stuck my thumb up. The truck skided to a stop in front of me.
"What do you need kid?" a smoking hot teenage boy in a plaid flannel asked. Hey I was in my period it's hard to control the hormones.
"Just a ride to the nearest town would be great" I replied. No nodded and motioned to the rear car door. I pulled the handle and hopped in slamming the door shut.
"HEY take it easy on ol' Betty here." The guy said.
"You named your car?" I asked in disbelief.
"Yeah. She may be old but she runs like a top. I'm Carter by the way. Carter Matthews."
"Nice to meet you I'm Maria." I said quietly.
"So tell me what's a pretty looking girl like you doing out on this road in the middle of nowhere. Boyfriend dump you or somethin'?" He said while keeping his eyes on he road.
"Uhh no" I said blushing. "it's kinda funny actually"
"Well do tell" he said eagerly.
"I kinda was kidnapped by my dad's old friend's son. And like escaped by punching some wood and acting like a boy and then sliding down a secret tunnel coated in grease." I said.
"That explains the grease" he said looking back at me. "We're here" he said turning the engine off and hoping out of the car. We had arrived at an old gas station at the edge of and old freaky town that I didn't even want to set foot in. We walked in and Carter showed me to the telephone. I nodded and smiled to show my appreciation. He the bought 2 cokes and sat down in a booth by the window.
I put 50 cents into the coin slot and typed in my Aunts number. I tapped my black colored nails on the side of the machine and the phone rang. Finally I heard her voice. "Hello who is this and what the hell do you want?!" I heard my grandmas peppy voice from the other side of the line. "Hey it's your niece. Maria. The one who went missing like 2 hours ago."
"Oh Maria. Your homesick already?" My Aunt asked laughing.
"Um no Auntie I'm in the middle of nowhere at a gas station with a guy named Carter because Robin kidnapped me and took me away but I escaped." I blurted trying to explain.
"The things you kids come up with these days" My aunt laughed.
"But Auntie I'm not lying. You need to come get me now!" I whisper screamed thought the phone at her.
"Stop it. I love you and see you in three months. Bye!" My aunt said.
"WAIT" I screamed but she already had hung up.
I slumped back over to the table were Carter was sitting and slide down into the seat across from him and grabbed his second coke gulping down half of it in like ten seconds. He raised his eyebrows at me and smirked. I just sat and slurped the coke happily looking out the window. Suddenly I saw a black SUV with tinted windows pull up into the back of the parking lot. I saw three boys get out. Robins gang!! I literally spit my coke out all over the table.
"Carter" I choked out "they're here!" I looked at him with panic in my eyes. He must have sensed it because he said " Don't worry I'll protect you." I nodded and he slowly moved to sit beside me and then proceeded to put his arm around me. As the front door buzzed and the De Noirs walked in I knew I was done for. There was an angry Robin glaring at me.
So please don't kill me. I haven't updated in months because I was too lazy and I understand that you may want to kill me. But don't because then nobody will be able to update for you guys ever. Hahaha payback on you. So to make it up to you guys I will be posting another chapter before this week is over!! YAY CELEBRATION TIME COME ON! (HANDS OUT COOKIES🍪🍪🍪🍪🍪🍪🍪 TO SHOW HOW SORRY I AM!)
