I could feel my heart racing, as i sat on the cafeteria table. 1:09 left, I tried to steady my breathing. My friends were huddled around me, watching my soul mate timer. I glanced back at the little square clock on my wrist. 1:00. My friends didn't speak, just watched in anticipation. Someone in this cafeteria had the same time as me on their watch. I felt myself being pulled out of my seat, I had a instinct to walk into he middle of the whole room. I glanced at the watch again 0:23, i looked around for anyone as nervous as me. I couldn't see anyone out of the ordinary. I glanced down again, 0:03, 0:02, 0:01, 0:00. my head snapped up as i felt a tap on my shoulder.
"I guess were soul mates." i heard a deep voice say. My brown eyes met his bright green ones. Justice Grey was my soul mate? I wasn't sure how to feel about this. Justice was the boy getting suspended every other day. How had i never noticed his soul mate timer before. I sighed.
"Well, this is a bit of a shock." I say, he ignores me and i watch as his eyes roam all over my body 'checking me out'. Has anyone ever not been happy about their soul mate? Maybe its just the shock, i'm sure he's a nice guy.
"So, Lauren, are you coming?" He nudges my shoulder as he walks to the cafeteria doors, i glance over to my friends before following him reluctantly. Justice is attractive, i mean, all the girls like him. Just not me. I don't like his reputation or attitude. Why me, god, why me.
When we get outside he whips out a cigarette from his pocket, i cringe with disgust. I can't be with someone like this? I'm not this type of girl. His hand comes towards me, stroking my long brown hair. Suddenly the bell for next period goes, i ran back into the building and went to Maths.
After the lesson had finished i went up to Mrs Bettross, she and i were quite close.
"Mrs Betross, you married your soul mate, didn't you?"
"Yes, i notice yours finally hit 0:00. You're one of the last in the school."
"Well, what if i don't like mine? Like. I don't want to spend the rest of my life with Justice Grey."
"Lauren, dear, you're worring me. Everyone that has matching soul mate timers, is meant to be. You can't question this. Its something we're born with. You need to give it time. He'll come around."
What's wrong with me? i don't want to give it time? I DO NOT like justice. He repulses me. Were totoal opposites. I've never heard of this before, i'm scared.
