"What? No!" I shouted. "I can't believe both of you paid for this without my consent" I got up from my seat. "Kayla, just hear us out okay? " My dad said.
"No dad, everyone here knows exactly what happened to me the last time"
"This time it's going to be different"
"Different?? " I spat.
"Oh come on Kayla it wasn't so bad the last time" Finn, one of my older, twin brothers said.
"I almost drowned, Finn" I looked at him in disbelief. How is he even my brother?
"Kayla calm down you might be overreacting" Josh, Finn's twin, said.
"Oh so now you're gonna butt in like know what's up? All you do is sit around on your phone all day"
"Mom and Dad told us about it" Josh said.
"How come I dont know about this?" I turn to face my parents. "No one ever tells me anything in this house" I said with bitterness in my tone.
"Kayla just let them explain"
"Leave me alone Josh". I ran up the stairs to my room and locked the door behind me.
I went to my bathroom and looked in the mirror. My face was slightly red. I raised the tap faucet and washed my face with some cold water.
I went back to my room, lay on my bed and decided to call Carter. I'm sure he'll make me feel better.
I called once.
Twice.
Thrice.
No answer. I thought of him being asleep but considering the fact that it's a few minutes past eight and Carter is basically a night owl, he probably isn't.
Feeling incredibly thirsty but the thought of going downstairs to confront my parents about this issue again made me hesitant.
Nonetheless, I unlocked my room door and crept downstairs slowly.
Step after step after step, being as quiet as possible so they don't notice my presence.
I'm at the bottom of the stairs. I tip-toe to the kitchen and open the fridge.
Grabbing the first bottle of water I see, I tip-toe out of the kitchen to see my parents and siblings watching television in the living room.We used to be so close but I don't know what happened. I guess things changed when grandma passed away. I'll never forget that day. It was seven months ago and mom is still grieving. They were really close.
Still doesn't mean they can set up this plan without my consent. I mean it just doesn't work that way. But at the same time I should've listened to what they had to say before shutting them down.
My mind wanders, debating if I should be mad at my parents or not. I come to a conclusion that I should've let them explain and know what it's all about.
"Kayla would you like to join us?"
I heard someone call my name and then I realised I've been standing in one spot for minutes, thinking about my life.
"Would you like to join us?" My mom asks again.
I sit on one of the small couches, not uttering a word.
"Look we're really sorry for not telling you about this. We just want the best for you. Although your last stay at a camp didn't go quite well but I promise this time it's going to be different" My dad said with sincerity in his tone.
I looked down at my hands and thought of what to say.
"What is it about? " I finally spoke up after a few seconds of silence.
"It's a music camp. It'll help you develop your talent. We know how much you love music"
"Hmm, go on" Now I'm interested.

"Someone help me please" I screamed. In the process of opening my mouth, more water enters.
I try to stay as calm as possible, try to stay afloat. But my lack of swimming experience was quite evident.
My vision, blurred due to all the water and chlorine in the swimming pool but I felt myself being rescued from the water.
I kept coughing due to all the water in my lungs. I opened my eyes to see the most beautiful person I've ever seen. He had chocolate brown eyes which were staring right into mine. He was Prince Charming.
I sit up and turn around to view the three meanies that pushed me into the water. They looked sorry. Bet they thought I could swim. I turn around to face Prince Charming.
As parted my lips to thank him for saving me I hear beeping. He stood up looked at me with a small smile on his face then walked away.
At first, I thought the coordinators were blowing their whistles and coming to check up on me. But whistles don't beep.
Beep! Beep! Beep!

I open my eyes. It was just another dream about my last camping experience. What is that noise? I ask myself. Then I realized its my alarm clock. I never set an alarm it's summer...
Then it hit me. When mom told me to call the boys down for dinner, they seemed to be coming from the direction of my room so they must've set the alarm. Ugh those boys will never grow up.
I check the time and it's three AM. I close my eyes and try to fall asleep again. Hopefully, Prince Charming will come back.
