"Emma!"
I turn toward the voice. There is a wall of glass, on the other side stood two girls. I entered taking my form in this past event.
"Emma, pass the jar please!"
"Okay, after I release this last one."
My hand reached out and let go. A star held up by air started flying into the night sky.
"Here you go Fiona."
"Thank you."
I helped Fiona let the star go. She was so young to know how. In glad she is here though. I was alone for almost a million years, with only the trees. He had finally sent another down.
"Do you think there are anymore people up there?"
"I don't know Fiona, we can only hope."
A star shoot across the sky.
"That's odd. Our air bubbles don't pop."
Fiona looked at me with curiosity and fear. "Let's go check it out."
"Together?"
"Of coarse."
He had never sent anything dangerous down before. He would never. But what if he did? The slim chance. The uneasy not knowing in me. The untrusting. We ran toward the star falling.
"Maybe it is another!"
Fiona huffed between breaths. Her hope enlightened me. Perhaps he had entrusted us to start a civilization. This time I wouldn't fail.
Me and Fiona were both wrong. It was a creature that would break people apart for years. A creature that caused pain and suffering and great loss. He had sent us two humans.
