"So, as Calum said yesterday, we could have an escape plan to get away from here in one piece if crap hits the fan and we need somewhere to go." David explained. All eyes were currently focused on him and exactly what he said. The vote was supposed to happen after this proposition to see if it changed anyone's opinion on what to do. I already wanted to stay and fight, but I knew my mother wanted to get out of here before we lost someone else.
"What about us? Our Kids? What about Liam?" Marcus argued. I see his point, If I were in the same place that him and Katie were, I wouldn't want to risk exposing my children to a dangerous situation.
"We could send you, and anyone else who doesn't want to stay and fight to a designated location. We could even load up the vehicle with extra supplies for just in case. If we end up keeping the place, we can call you on the CB radio and you'll just come on back." Spencer stood up, explaining the brilliant plan. I swear that girl needs to be a detective or something.
"And if things go badly, we can all hop into a vehicle and drive to the location." Toby added to his fiancé's statement. The power couple of the year, everyone.
The looks on everyone's faces looked as if the wheels in their brains were spinning fast. Everyone was planning this out in their heads to figure out if it would work or not. A hopeful look was plastered across the faces of the Hood family, and my dad looked pleased along with Mark and Wes.
Sam looked a little constipated to be completely honest. The mixture of thought and confusion was enough to make me cringe internally. He may still take some convincing.
"Should we vote?" Sam asked. Everyone nodded. Even Liam and Ferra seemed convinced, especially considering they would be in the vehicle for those not able to fight. Ferra was a tough woman, she tells me the stories of her many years, and Liam is also a good kid, but neither of the two were properly equipped to put up a fair fight between an unknown cause.
"Can you tell us the whole story first?" Alyssa had her arms crossed across her chest, with a determined look on her face. That expression seemed familiar. Oh. I quickly wiped my thoughts of my beloved sister so that I could properly process the information about to be given to me and my friends.
"Well, we think that those people we came across on the raid followed us back to the vault, and they want what we have." David started.
"They threatened us with a note when we got back." I twirled Ali's bracelet around my wrist, struggling to remember the last day I saw her.
"They told us that they would take something else we love if we don't give them the keys and leave. We said no at first, but we don't know what ammo or manpower they have. They could have an army of thirty plus people that are trained with military tactics, we have no clue." Hold the phone. Something Else? I freaking knew it. Someone kidnapped Alison! This was the final straw. I don't care what my parents say, I'm going to make these monsters pay for this. I will make them wish they had never taken their first breath.
"We have to stay." I say. Blood still boiling from the information just given to me.
"You don't get a choice in this. It's ultimately your father and I's decision and if we want to leave, we will." My mother stated. I huffed in frustration, and looked at my brother for backup.
"Who all wants to fight? That's the real question." Wes proposed a vote and my hand immediately flew into the air, along with my brother, father, Calum and his parents, Wes and Alyssa, and Spencer and Toby.
Katie, Marcus, Ferra, Sam, and Mark all stayed silent.
"Well we obviously can't just let a few people go, so here's the plan," Sam started. He then explained how we would designate each person who wasn't staying with extra supplies to take with them, and if things go badly, we can all just leave and meet up with them. That was originally the plan, so I don't see why he just repeated what we were all thinking, but we all did need to know the plan so that nothing could go wrong.
"Lets go see what we have in storage for tricking those bastards." My dad began. My mother still seemed on the line about the whole thing, but I knew she wouldn't want to leave my dad here while she knows she's safe. My parents have fought a lot in the past, but one thing is true; they love each other more than anything and I know that they ultimately just want to protect us in the long run.
"Well, I assume that were settled now." Sam sighed. Everyone let out a huff in appreciation that we agreed on something so quickly.
