Scott climbed into the car, clearly bummed out about something.
“What’s up?” I asked.
He sighed. “I failed a test. I got a D on it. I usually get low A’s or high B’s.”
“Scott, you need to study more.” I mused.
He shot me a look.
“It was a joke.” I rolled my eyes. “Scott, it’s one test. You’re gonna make it up. Do you want help studying?”
He shook his head. “No, I’m studying with Allison in a bit.”
I turned, smirking. “That’s my boy.”
“We’re just studying.” He glared at me.
“Uh, no, you’re not. If you go to her house today and squander that colossal opportunity, I swear to God I’ll have you de-balled. She obviously likes you.” I laughed.
He suddenly screamed, and I slammed the breaks, looking in front of me. There stood Derek, his hand raised towards us.
“Oh, my God!” I screamed.
Cars honked behind us and Scott cursed.
“Oh, no, no, no, not here.” He whispered.
Suddenly, Derek collapsed, falling on his back.
I slammed my hands on the wheel. “You’ve got to be kidding me. This guy’s everywhere.”
We both climbed out of the car, hurrying towards him. Suddenly, Stiles was beside us.
“What the hell?” Scott asked.
I fell beside Derek, putting a hand on his face, making him look up. “What are you doing here?”
“I was shot.” He stated.
“He’s not looking so good, dude.” Stiles pointed out.
“Why aren’t you healing?’ Scott asked.
“I can’t. It was…It was a different kind of bullet.” Derek panted.
“A silver bullet?” Stiles frowned.
“No, you idiot.” He growled.
Scott looked at us. “Wait, wait. That’s what she meant when she said you had forty-eight hours.”
Derek was breathing heavily, and he looked up. “What? Who…who said forty-eight hours?”
“The one who shot you.” Scott stated.
Suddenly, a wave of pain came over Derek and for a few seconds, his eyes flashed blue. I looked around, making sure no one saw. “What are you doing? Stop that!”
“I’m trying to tell you, I can’t!” He growled.
I cupped his face, making him look straight into my eyes. “Hale, get up.”
Derek shook his head, his eyes flashing once more.
Scott lifted him, and then looked at me. “Help me put him in your car.”
I nodded, and we both threw him in the passenger seat, and I climbed in the driver’s side.
“I need you to find what kind of bullet they used.” Derek commanded.
Scott frowned. “How the hell am I supposed to do that?”
“’Cause she’s an Argent. She’s with them.” Derek growled.
“Why should I help you?” Scott demanded.
“Because you need me.” He breathed.
Scott looked around, before turning back to Derek. “Fine. I’ll try.”
