Much to Clausia's surprise, Miza did not glare at her in disbelief.
She stayed fantastically calm. Her expression did not show like Clausia was crazy, which brought much relief to Clausia. The last time Clausia had tried to explain to her mother about her powers, she was chased out of the house. Not the best idea.
Seeing Clausia taken aback, Miza smiled in return. She told me that she was in all these situations before.
"In fact,"she said,"I help them."
Clausia was confused. She didn't understand what Miza was talking about. When Clausia inquired Miza more about what she was talking about, she hastily looked around before letting out a soft whisper,"Let's talk at somewhere else."
They arrived at the deserted hospital park. It was tranquil, with only a few grasshoppers tirelessly singing.
"You're not the only one with these powers,"Miza explained."In this country, there are like, 50 people who possess powers? However, everyone's powers are different. While you have a pitch-perfect voice that heals, my brother has a power to make any sound with his mouth."Clausia gasped.
"Not all powers are related to sounds and music. They can be something else. Each power is unique and special."
Clausia dreamed of herself, creating a superb team with many people that has powers.
"But these powers naturally lead you to trouble. Everyone would yearn for a power like that. Therefore, a secret group of researchers--they find and dig out all these special people and use them like hamsters, hoping to use their powers. Just like what happened to my brother."
Clausia gulped.
"They mercilessly researched on him, thinking that if they make a perfect replica of him-they could use them for wars, battles, performances--with all those sounds he could make, they would strike it rich. So they drained all the information from his brain, they drained everything. As a result, this happened to him."
She felt queasy, and mortally scared.
"That's why we can never let that happen again. We created a safe place--and we would like you to come. Come to this place. You will be safe."
Clausia lowered her gaze."But...the thing is...I can't."
