Sunlight filled the room, the morning sun just barely peeking into the girl's room. She sat up, a smile plastered to her face, first thing in the morning let alone. She stood up and stretched, walking over to her dresser and sloppily brushed her hair. She heard her front door shut, panicking a bit. However, she soon remembered that her Russian father had been staying the night. She yawned with a smile, looking down at her phone. She blinked as she had 49 other missing phone calls, one from each of her siblings. "That's weird...." She mumbled, blinking a few more times as her eyes widened. "Omigod! We had a meeting today! Our boss is gonna kill me!!" She exclaimed, hurriedly getting dressed.
She had brushed her hair, slipped on her boots, and slipped on her bomber jacket. She took one last look in the mirror and smiled at her reflection, walking out the door, just as the Russian was returning. She smiled at him with a wave as he returned the smile.
She walked outside, eating a granola bar as she walked down the sidewalk, looking around. "Why does the meeting have to be another city over?...." She mumbled, a bit irritated that they chose to have a meeting on that day of all days. She had wanted to spend time with her step-father while he was home.
Ivan sighed in the apartment, all by himself. He was a bit bored, so he had decided to take a walk. He walked outside, hearing a plane flying above, looking up with a smile. He enjoyed plane rides, because it had felt as though he was flying.
Katy had seen that very plane and smiled herself, watching it for a moment, then checked her watch. "8:46...." She mumbled, looking back up at the plane, that was flying very dangerously close to her beloved towers. Her eyes widened. "W-what are they doing?....." She murmured, dashing of to make it to her towers, just as the plane crashed into the side of the her tower. "No!!!!!!" She screamed, tears beginning to run down her face.
Ivan had seen this, his own eyes wide as a thought dawned upon him. "Katy!!" He called, running off to search for the young New Yorker. When he found her she was bawling her eyes out, staring up as black smoke rose from her tower. "Katy, get back!!" He ran over.
"But my people-!"
"Your people will be fine, Katy, get back!" He pulled her back as there was a second plane flying above, near the second tower.
"NO!! STOP!!" She screamed, restraining against the Russian man, sobbing painfully. "Why are you doing this?!!?"
"Katy calm down!"
She stared at the burning towers as the smell of burning flesh filled the air. The Russian gagged and pulled his daughter back.
"They can fix them, they can fix them, they can fix them...." She repeated to herself.
"Katy, please.... You're in denial..."
"No no no no no no no!!!" She screamed to the sky. There was a cracking sound and the two looked up, Katy's eyes wide as the first tower began to fall to the ground. She dropped to her own knees, a crying and sobbing mess.
"NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" She screamed loudly, closing her eyes tightly with her head to the sky.
Ivan knelt beside her, gently hugged her. Burn marks had appeared on her arms and she cried more, as the second tower fell not too shortly after.
Later that night, Katy was sitting in a New York bar, staring at her table. Sakura walked up, smiling softly. "Konichiwa, Katy-san... I brought you some of your favourite games..." She said, smiling at the New Yorker.
"Set them down, we can play a little bit later....."
Sorina walked up hesitantly, sitting across from her, sliding her favourite alcoholic beverage to her. The New Yorker looked up. "Thank you..." She mumbled, grabbing the bottle and cracking it open and taking a drink.
Soon a young Italian walked up. "Ciao, Katy!~ Would you-a like some pasta?~ It'll-a make you feel better-a!~" She chirped.
"I'm sorry, Feliciana.... I'm not really hungry...."
The Italian shrugged and set the plate down, running over to her step-sister.
Xia walked up, holding a cat to herself. "I hope thing get better." She said, casually walking away.
Kazimi and Anya walked up not too soon after. "Privet sestra! Won't you have this sunflower and be bright and happy like yourself?" He smiled softly, pinning the small hair pin in his younger sister's hair. Anya nodded. "Da, don't be pouty. It doesn't suit you."
Once they walked away, Tristan walked up with Etoile, both holding flowers, and both smiling. "Bonjour, Mademoiselle!" The boy said, putting the flower he had behind her ear, as Etoile but the flower crown on her head, smiling at her, causing a few tears to escape the New Yorker's eyes.
Emma ran up and threw her arms around the other, Lu walking up, smiling despite it.
Kyle, Ashley, and Jennifer walked up, all hugging their older sister.
The last of her friends to walk up was Charles. He smiled at her, a kind look in his blue eyes. "Remember, Katy..... Remember to smile..."
Everyone was behind him, smiling at the blonde. "Even when those bad memories make it difficult to."
This caused more tears to run down the girl's face. "Thank you, you guys.... Thank you so much...." She murmured, beginning to sob softly, Charles wrapping his arms around her comfortingly. "It's okay, Katy.... It's going to be okay..."
