"LEAVE ME ALONE!"

Her bare feet scraped on the hard concrete and she ran as fast as her legs could carry her. No matter how fast she ran she could always hear those calm footsteps trailing behind her. I knew she could because with every step she took I was close behind her.

She scurried away into a dark alley, but fear caught up with her as she hit the ground, slamming her head into the cement. She moaned out in pain and reached for her forehead, blood peering out from the broken skin. I took slow, haunting steps toward her until my dark shadow hung over her. She scurried to her knees and tried to crawl away.

"God, please! Why are you doing this?"

My steps become more daunting as I approached her. As if with every step I could smell the blood I was about to spill.

"No ...What do you want? What did I do?"

I let out a sly grin as I bent down and I brought my weapon to her neck. I watched her throat gulped in fear giving me tender shivers through my spine.

"You want to know what you did?" I asked through clenched teeth.

I reached into my pocket and pulled out the phone, tapping the screen.

"Aaron hey, it's Chloe. The reservations are for 9 pm so make sure you get here. I'll wait for you outside so hurry up. Anyway, see you soon, love."

She was silent.

"You stole my husband, Chloe. Killing you is my only option," I responded revealing a decrypted smile.

"No please. If you want me to stop seeing him, I will. I will, so please don't- don't do this?"

I sighed and gave her a comforting smile, watching as she seemed to relax and return a small, sad smile. I rested my hand on her shoulder before I slashed my weapon across her chest. She gasped while I admired the blood, which stained her blouse from the inside. I gripped her by her collar and placed her in a choke-hold. I held her up against my chest, pressing her close as she began to gasp and groan.

"Aaron was my world Chloe, my whole world. You must have known how dangerous it would be getting into this kind of relationship. You never know what the wife is capable of," I chuckled.

"Tell me? What did you really love most about my husband?"

Other than her struggling breaths, she was silent. So I trailed my weapon against her moonlit skin before I slowly stabbed and sliced it down from her forehead to her chin. I quickly covered her mouth as she let out a spine-shattering scream.

"Aaron? Aaron, I have great news!" I called out, shaking my umbrella and dumping it into the umbrella bucket. I kicked off my heels before walking onto the hardwood floor of our living room. Thunderstruck as I closed the front door behind me and called for my husband.

"Aaron? Are you here?"

I pulled out my phone to examined the time.

That weird, it's already 6:30. I thought and sighed. I'll have to wait then.

I shrugged off my coat, tossing it onto the coat rack and made my way to the kitchen. I twisted my long black hair into a spiral, ringing it dry from the unforgiving storm outside before shuffling to the refrigerator and grabbing a bottle of water. I took a swig and walked to the corner of our kitchen where our schedule hung for all to see on the dry erase board. My weekly therapy appointment scheduled in today's box stared back at me along with a doctor's visit before I crossed it out as completed with a puff in my chest.
