A knocking at my door disrupted my thoughts. Slowly, I sat up from my bed expecting to see my grandmother with my breakfast, instead, she came into my room along with two other figures. One was Tooru and the other an older looking man with messy brown hair and it looked like he hasn't shaved recently. He wore a white coat and a yellow shirt underneath.
"Hello Arisu-chan," Tooru greeted me cheerfully but there was a hint of concern in his greeting as well.
My grandmother walked towards me and took hold of my hand and with a soft voice she told me what was going on.
"Arisu-chan, this is the doctor. He's coming to check up on you again."
"Again? You mean?"
She gave me a slight nod, telling me that they had called for him to check up on me when I was allegedly sick.
"Why is it so dark in here?" asked the doctor.
"Oh, Arisu-chan can't stand bright things , so she has a tendency to be in dark or dim places," answered Tooru. Since he was standing near me, I elbowed his guts.
"Are you okay?" the doctor asked him as he went over to open the blinds. He tried to hold in his groan when I elbowed him which the doctor heard.
"I'm okay," he replied as he opened the blinds. I covered my eyes as sunlight flooded my room.
The doctor did a check up on me. Thankfully, he didn't need to take a blood test, needles were terrifying.
"Well, your temperature is back to normal and you seem perfectly healthy. That insect bite mark on your arm has disappeared as well and I think you've made a huge recovery. Do you often get sick when you stay with your grandparents?"
I looked up at him totally blank.
"Maybe?"
My grandmother told him that I occasionally got sick when I was young when I lived with them.
"And is she normally pale?" he continued on.
Both Tooru and my grandmother nodded.
"Okay, if anything else happens to her, don't hesitate to call me," he said before leaving.
I looked at my grandmother as she silently tried to walk out of the room. She turned around and caught me looking at her. Before leaving me and Tooru, she gave me an apologetic smile.
"So, you still hate doctors?" said Tooru.
I went over to the blinds and pulled them halfway, allowing some light into the room.
"Was I really sick?"
Tooru looked down at his hands and gave me a nod.
"The following day after we hung out, I came over to your place but your grandma told me you weren't feeling well. I was confused because you didn't look sick at all the day before but she told me it was a natural thing for you. Your body just had to adjust to the new environment, so I left. It the same for the following day and the day after that. You were getting worse. Your grandma got worried because you would normally get well after one or two days, so she called the doctor on the fourth day and he came to check up on you,"
I groaned in frustration, I couldn't remember much after that night. Tooru smiled at me and gave me a pat on the head.
"I know you hate people touching you but I can't help it," he said.
"Doesn't mean you have to tell the world about my weird tendencies," I mumbled.
"So, what do you want to do today?" he asked me after patting my head.
"I don't know...how about we finish our tour and walk around?" I said.
After we had breakfast, we went for a walk. Tooru showed me the rest of the village and who lived where and what went on here. By the time the tour finished, it was around four in the afternoon. Soon, we met up with Natsuno. Tooru waved at him while he just walked, ignoring Tooru's greeting. As we got closer to him, I noticed a rustle in the bushes and a dash of pink.
Natsuno and Tooru had their little talk as we headed to the store, which was where Natsuno was heading. I kept quiet, while focusing on the intruder. My foot kicked something on the ground. It was a pebble. I grinned as an idea entered my head. Silently, I walked behind Tooru and Natsuno. Then I turned around and threw the pebble at the bush the intruder was hiding. A high pitched 'ouch' came from the bush. All three of us turned our heads to see a girl with pink hair crawl out while using her other arm to rub the bruise on her forehead.
