Dear august, it's me loyalty again.
I'm not sure if you're getting these letters because you don't respond. I wish I could see you but you know how my mom is.
She hit me last week for taking to long on dinner.
I miss you august I really do.
Remember how you used to say we'd run away when we turned eighteen?
It's finally here all I'm missing is you.
Would you like for me to pick you up when you get released?
Mark told me you'll be out next week. Please let me know

~Loyalty aka your best friend
I placed the letter in the envelope and put a stamp on it.
After placing it in the drop box at the front of the apartments I began to walk back
"Lo! Loyalty." I heard my name being called, I turned around and was met with my best friend Raelyn.
"Hey girl." I said placing my hands in my pockets and continued walking
"Still writing old dude?" She asked
I nodded my head in response before opening my apartment door and heading to the back.
"Ole boy don't even write back. Rude ass, see messing with me He would have never got a letter." Raelyn protested.
I shook my head getting comfortable
"I'm sure there is good reason for it rae."
"Mhmm..So where yo' rude ass mama?" She asked
I shrugged "hell if I know."
I was being short with raelyn because I was thinking about August and his release.
What if he really, isn't writing me because he doesn't like me anymore even though I didn't do anything
I hate that he got locked up but I told his ass to stop selling drugs but he would always say "I gotta do what I gotta do bubby."
"Lo, I know you hea' yo phone."
