"What the hell is going on here!"

" I missed this dad—"

"Me too"

It surprised me how quick he was to respond. I never liked talking about how I felt, but he was so easy to talk to.

" So me and you're mom was thinking if—"

Before he could finish his sentence, we hear the sound of footsteps escalating. Then a shadow, over crowds my door.

A voice suddenly shouts, “Heather!"

As I turn my head. A gust of wind causes my body to shake slightly. As I turn to look at my dad he is gone. All I can say is,

“What the hell, are you serious right now!" The person behind my door is banging on it continuously without thought.

As I slowly turn the knob, my older brother Nigel bursts in.

" Mom wants you, and she ain't happy—"

"Tell her I'm coming"

" whatever, don't say I didn't warn you."

As he turns to open the door all I could think of  is thank God  he left, and where did my dad disappear to.

" oh and by the way I can hear your thoughts as well, Heather

"What, wait.... How'd you?"

" I'm not that stupid, I knew that dad was here"

" really!"

" Um... Yea, get with the program sis!"

Nigel leaves me completely speechless as he rushed downstairs, the door bell rings, and trust me it’s his girlfriend Amy. That girl is such a bitc— I pause slowly, it won't matter what I think, because now both my brother and father can read my thoughts. Like reading my diary and printing copies wasn't enough! Ugh. Life sucks. Oh shi— I forgot all about my mom wanting to send me to my father, I better pack.

Two hour go by when i finally finished packing.  I struggle to go downstairs, with this ratchet sinting'.  I always laugh when I bring out my inner Jamaican, comes  out. Not that I'm Jamaican or anything but, ever since when I was ten, I was able to speak in any language possible, Dutch, Portuguese, Spanish, Italian, you name it.

Once when I was twelve me and my mom to a Chinese restaurant, and my mom complained that there was too much water in her cup, the lady of Chinese decent kept speaking in her foreign language.

Little did she know, I understood everything she said. As she continued to insult my mom, I told her in Chinese that I knew what she was saying. Her face went pale and she was lost for words.

As I continued to argue in my mom’s defense, I may have, you know... Mentioned a couple of swear words here and there until, I was bored. When I turned towards my mom, she couldn't be happier, cheering me on.

“Yea that's right, you go Heather, look everybody this is my daughter so you better watch out!" The whole restaurant bursts’ out in laughter.

My mom and I left the restaurant hand in hand, but when there is happiness, sadness follows. When we got home I ran upstairs excited to tell Nigel, about me kicking the Chinese women's ass.

The sound of my parents fighting, was spread throughout the whole house. To this day I realized that I never knew the reason to why my dad left.

My mom claims that he told her he couldn't be with her anymore, ten years down the drain.

I can't imagine the pain, and suffering she went through. To know the one that you loved just.... Left you! All thoughts leave my head as someone yells my name. I look up, and

immediately I start to frown.

" Heather, what the hell is going on here!"
