"My group, take out your weapons," Tyler called to us from the front of the bus as it slowed down

I quickly grasped my gun with both of my shaking hands, as I took deep, shaky, breaths to try and calm myself. Dylan, who had a sense of humour, put his hand in his pocket and took it out in the shape of a gun. I smiled weakly at him and his hand returned to its original shape, Emma patted me on the back to reassure me. I was sure my face was white as a ghost, showing my fear, from the way the few people left on the bus looked at me, especially Tyler. On one hand I could tell he cared about me, or what would happen to him if I died, and on the other I could tell that he thought that I was going to die.

"Niki, we're going to need you to look through the walls and tell us if there are any corpses in there," he said, almost like he was asking me and telling me at the same time.

I simply nodded, worried that if I opened my mouth to talk, nothing would come out and I would just be standing there like a fish out of water, adding to my embarrassment.

I walked over to the thin metal doors of the hospital in a trance, not talking in any information about the surroundings from the bus to the doors of the old, faded, red brick, building. It was like I teleported from the bus to the doors because one second I was talking to Tyler and the next I was looking into the massive three storey building. I wouldn't be surprised if I actually did teleport, the world being the way it is and us being the way we are.

The whole building lay out in front of me, I couldn't feel the eyes of the curious other group who had never seen my power being used before, or the sun beating down on my back, or the hot wind that didn't help.

"What can you see?" I faintly heard Tyler ask, even though he was probably yelling right into my ear because all my usual senses are dimmed to focus all my energy on seeing through walls.

Shit I thought to myself as I saw at least 500 corpses spread around the whole building.

"N- Not g- goo- d," I think I said, but my muscles kind of tensed up and locked when I used my power as well.

I looked at a couple other things like where all the keys were kept, fire axes, weather the door was barricaded, how many corpses were hanging out in the lobby and how many could get into the lobby with minimal effort. I tried not to dwell on the fact that this was a hospital, where people went to get well again, but instead they were entombed, their fate sealed. I saw elderly people, babies, and everyone in between. Whether they were there because they had a cold or a particularly vicious form of cancer and they were going to die anyway, it didn't matter because they were all dead now.

I shut my power off and opened my eyes to the outside world hoping that Tyler or someone was behind me ready to catch me when I fell, otherwise I would be out cold from hitting my head on the concrete. Luckily he was.

I kept my eyes shut, to try and stop the sun frying my eyes, as I relayed the information back to the group.

"There's about 500 corpses in the whole building, only ten in the lobby and another ten that can get in without you opening a door, and the door is boarded up."

"Shit," Tyler swore under his breath, but still loud enough for everyone within five meters to hear, "Are most of them in rooms?"

"Yeah," I replied as he stood me up and I blinked the sun out of my eyes.

He sighed and thought about it for a while, "I think this might be do-able. What do you think Eva?"

"Yeah, I think if we just take them on a couple at a time then we can clear the place," She answered, "but what about the door?"
