The Eight Different Kinds of Love

Intro to Love

There are many different kinds of love.  In Ancient Greek they have discovered words that describe the different types of love and as silly as it sounds, I think everyone should have a basic understanding of what kind love is out there for them. Growing up, it's common to love people for the flaws they have and sometimes it's hard but everyone I believe needs love whether or not you deny it. For teenagers, we're often discouraged from having in our lives. We're constantly told that we're too young for love, and that statement is false because loving someone has no age.

Love is not an age, it's a matter of your standards. You can make the choice to avoid love and compassion like a plague but when it happens, it's not determined by a race, age, ethnicity, color, sexuality or disability, it's determined by what you feel on the inside rather than the what you look like inside. Love is not something you see, yes you can show it, but you are unable to see it with your eyes.  You can be physical with love but it's an emotional thing rather than a touch with a person. Love is a connection between your heart and someone else's. Love can be difficult at times but it's a beautiful thing and once you have it, don't take the risk and let go, keep holding on to that love for as long as possible and don't let anyone take that away from you.

There are eight different types of love that I have experienced or will experience in my lifetime. It is honestly in my belief that everyone, at some point in their lives will experience these types of life. They are put into different groups according to what they describe. In this eight part short love explanation, I will go into further explanations in how they have impacted my life in one way or another. I hope it will open your eyes tothings you have never known before. The eight types of love that I think you will experience in your lifetime are agape, storge, pragma, philautia, phila, ludus, eros, phileo.
